December 28th - Moving In Party
« on: December 21, 2010, 12:15:10 am »
Well, now that I have you here, I'll get to the truth.

I'm moving to Redmond, Oregon on December 28th and was hoping that I could put together a small little 'party' of people to come help me move into my new place. ^^

We can all bring food for a potluck or get pizza or something.

I just have a few nitpick requirements...
NOTE: THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE BOSSY. I am just getting my point across without beating around the bush.
  • Please have clean shoes when you enter the apartment. (I don't want mud on my new carpets.) Please bring a change of shoes if you need to.
  • Please don't toss my stuff around or break anything.
  • My parents WILL be there so please behave. My mother is a Reverend and Fire Fighter and BOTH of my parents are Correction Officers. My mom does not tolerate anything vulgar.
  • You will participate in unloading the truck or moving furniture around. (<- Does sound rude but I just don't want people to sit around and do nothing. It irks me.)

So yes, I need help...please?
Griff is working that day and can't help me and I only have my parents to help.
While both parents are pretty strong...that's A LOT to move considering I have a full size couch, table, dresser, desk, and all that fun stuff to furnish just about the whole apartment.

Place: I'll send it through a message to those who attend.
Time: 1pm ish
Date: 12/28

Attendees
Me | Kris
Mom | Tonya
Dad | Ron

Soundin' a little bossy, there. Not that I would normally go against any of the stuff you said, the tone of the message definitely turns me off from attending. Feels like more of a chore, instead of helping...

Might wanna work on that.

Sorry if it sounds bossy. I've moved a lot in my life and had people help and stuff has been destroyed, tossed around, and have had people who sit there and do nothing except inhibit the process.

I guess I just don't really know how to say it in a kinder tone with still getting my point across. :/
Cause normally when I say things 'nice,' people find loop holes and then it creates havoc.

:(  Bullet points.  Otherwise everything should already be implied with helping some one move in.  Its a bit far or I'd love to come help out.
