Portland's become something of a hipster mecca, especially as word gets out more and more that a city with an 11% unemployment rate is one of the happiest cities in the US, has such a low crime rate that the police spend most of their time ticketing jaywalkers and checking fares on maxes, and there's about an 80% chance that any guy on the street you see with a beard is a microbrewer. Those who are in the know though are aware that Canada's twice as hip as Portland and fifteen times more populous! That's a lot of flannel!
