Craft foam is dirt cheap

All the armor on this costume was made with craft foam and the helmet was craft foam, clay and paper mache.

I've been meaning to ask, how did you curve the foam for your armor, Nichole? That's the only thing I still get stuck on when planning things out. I don't know the best method to curve materials.

If your doing the kind of armor like in my Zoids cosplay, my Jager suit is 90% foam board. I'm a little fragile but if you make it more than one layer your more durable. =]

Like I said, I followed that turtorial for the most part. To bend it I just took a brow dryer to it till it was a little floppy then shaped it and held it the shape I wanted till it cooled.

No. The glue may crack a little but it doesn't break and that is only if you bend it a lot. It is pretty sturdy.
