Actor Peter Falks passed away yesterday
Probably best know for playing "Columbo" and
 peeps here will probably know him best as the grandfather who narrated  "The Princess Bride".

Tho for me what comes to mind is a funny camio from the great muppet caper.

I loved that man now the princess bride is down another member and it hurts that man was in my childhood.

Awww. I only knew him from The Princess Bride and nothing else unfortunately; But I'll always remember him as playing one of the sweetest grandfathers in movie history.

It's sad that he passed on but at least he lived a long and fulfilling life. May he rest in peace. <3

The Princess Bride grandfather was my favorite characters he played, though I've gotta be honest, I thought he was already dead...

@WO: But that's what made him so endearing! He didn't treat his grandson like an itty bitty child (which the kid would have hated) but as more of a close friend. :3

Yup.  I never had a grandfather, so really endearing grandfathers from shows and movies is the closest I ever had.
