Security Deposit @ Red Lion

I just have a quick question for those who stayed at the Red Lion last year-

I have a reservation for this Kumoricon there, but I can't remember how much the security deposit was last, if it was anything. Does anyone know?

There is no security deposit. You just have to provide the hotel with a credit/debit card number to reserve the room. They don't take any money until you check out.

Is there really no security deposit? Almost all hotels I stay in require one, usually around $50 a night that they then return to you after you check out.

Also last year when I paid with cash, they wanted it when I checked in. However this year I want to use my card since it'll be less hassle.

I booked at the Red Lion with a credit card, no deposit was required.

I'm sure as well, I stayed there last year. The Hilton also doesn't have one. In fact, I've never stayed at a hotel with one. They've always just charged my credit card the day I checked in.

Most Hotels don't require a security deposit when you pay with a card, only when you pay with cash.
