Concern Regarding Artist Alley 2012
« on: December 22, 2012, 11:06:19 pm »
So I've come to terms with me being super late with this post and for that, I apologize, but I feel it needs to be said that I'm facing an issue currently with a purchase I made on Day 3 of the 2012 con, regarding a plush bought at the Artist Alley. I don't remember the name of the commissioner, but I ordered a small Homestuck plush (Sollux Captor) that was said to be delivered within a 2 weeks to a month. Well, I never recieved and and despite the negative comments I've recieved "It's probably never going to come" I still hope I can sort this out and maybe get what I paid for. Any help I can get would be appreciated and I really hope this gets resolved, please and thank you!

(Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place, I found it a bit tricky to find out where to post this!)

This exact same thing happened to my sister with a Deadpool commision that she paid in full for and never recieved or got notified of.. I dont think that person should get a booth again this year.

I have tryed to get this resolved but no one has really helped :( was it a female behind the booth?

I keep on hearing these problems with at con commissions but I gotta say if i was to buy or sell a commissioned product at con I would  1) Make sure you get ALL of the Artist and Buyers contact information IE - name, phone, address and email 2) make sure you get an estimate when it will be done and then add 7ish days for shipping to that. 3) Don't pay in full!! Make an arrangement, such as pay half at con and then half later. A) have the artist contact buyer when its done and send second half of commission (check or money order)and they send commission after receiving money. B) finish the transaction by setting up a time and date for the artist to list your product on Etsy with the $ value being the second half of the commission price and then you immediately purchase it;  that way if its not shipped you can report them through Etsy.  There might be other ways to fix this problem of not getting your paid for comissions but I can't think of any.
