Friday is when people who have pre-registered can check in at the registration booth in the basement of the Hilton. There are no official events happening, but I know that there are definitely groups of people trying to meet others that hang out in the park across the street. It's a bit of a wait if you go through the line, but it's definitely worth it, and waiting in line is actually quite a bit of fun.
