When will the new charity suggestion thread open?  And for the vote do you need to be staff to vote (assume so)

I too, am interested to find out about which charities have been nominated and when the decision will be made in regards to the recipient of proceeds from this year's auction.  Is there a vote by the members at a general meeting, is there an electronic ballot or is the decision made by the board members?  I wasn't able to make it to March's meeting, so I apologize if this was addressed.
