Any interest in a gens 1-5 Pokemon tournament?

Of course, it would be split up into gens. I'm thinking a gen 2 tournament, a gen 3, and a gen 5 (3 gets its own despite being compatable with the later ones because it's the only one on the GBA). Would that be cool with everyone? If so, obtaining the necessary link cables would be something we'd all have to work on, so signups could include if they can provide one or not.

Have you thought of having Pokemon Showdown and having tournament conditions limited to the Generations that you want? It might be more accessible than physical copies of the old games.

With the new games having power divisions different than the other ones, I feel like it would be more appropriate to have the older games themselves.

I'd be interested in gen 1 OU on Pokemon Showdown. I know the gen 1 OU rules are accurately enforced.
