i was just wondering how many people are going to be limited to each room
last year it was a 4 person limit and i was just wondering if thats changed

Our contract with the hotel requires that only 4 people are allowed to a room. That's very strict, as the hotel has the right to kick every person out of a room if there are more than 4 people in them. If there are 4 people in a room, that's only a little over $22/night, and it's better to pay that than to have the hotel kick you out.

Just for clarification, can you have more than four people visiting your room? I'm not looking for a loophole, I'm just asking if they'll know the difference between visitors and people staying the night.

I would assume that it's ok as long as it doesn't look like the extra people will be sleeping there. Six sleeping bags on the floor is probably not a good idea.

that is correct... though, I'm sure if you have 8 people in your room at 4 in the morning and someone next to you complains to the front desk, they could excersize the right to kick you or the people out of the room. that would be up to the hotel.

but to my knowledge, there is no problem with having people visit your room... they just don't want to see two beds used, a roll away, and then 3 sleeping bags on the ground (which could indicate either 6 people, or 8, dpending on how friendly those people are).

Quick, someone guess what movie that quote is from ^_^.

And I know of a way to save space. Take the cushions off of the sofa or the extra cushions off of the bed, lay them on the floor and you have yourself a make-shift bed. Also, if there's enough of a ledge, you could sleep on the windowsill. Helpful tip: Make sure the window is closed before you go to sleep.

I'm sorry Frodo, but that isn't something we can condone, suggest, or even mention. People will be kicked out of their room if the hotel finds more than 4 people sleeping there. no if ands or buts about it... and if it happens to multiple rooms, I'm sure the hotel is going to start questioning us about it.

4 people to a room... period. If you break that rule, we are not going to be able to fight with the hotel on your behalf... visiting is fine... but if you are staying in a room that is already full, then you risk having yourself, and everyone else kicked out of the room.

Hello,

It's important to support this con as, they NEED to sell hotel rooms. If you can afford it, buy a hotel room for the good of the con and also for your own sanity. Having been in an overstuffed room many times before, I can tell you it's not always fun.

Four people per room is good but, if you have money, two is even better as, it makes it easier for the con to sell other rooms.

But my advice still stands about sleeping under a desk, in case there are only four people in the room, but two people don't want to share a bed. That I've done before because I couldn't stand two of the chicks in my room, and I felt the guy deserved his own bed. (He blushed way too easily way too much.)

I know how you feel. When I went on a band trip in high school, it was four people to a room with only two beds. Four guys... two beds... I'll go with sleeping on the floor using the cushions and blankets, thank you. That's how I thought of the make-shift bed idea.

Hotels are used to people asking for roll aways because two of the people do not want to share a bed. At Sakura, we had two beds and a roll away for 4 people. My roommate was so much more comfortable in the rollaway rather than sharing with someone he hardly knew!
