I can’t view the DQ8 Home page you linked. I'm looking here.
http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dw8psx/screenshots.phpShirt: That shirt you linked looks right but maybe a little short
Robe: His robe has big obvious stitching; maybe it is supposed to be thick homespun cloth with leather thong lacing. (A rule used in theater and movie costumes is to work by distance, Close up, 10-foot rule, 50-foot rule and 100-foot rule. I may be working 2nd unit on Native costumes for a movie this summer, the 50 foot rule for deer skin clothing is to use Burlap and the stitches are drawn on with a marker, the 10 foot costumes the stitches would be panted on with that stuff in a squeeze bottles that old ladies use to paint kittens and bingo slogans on there sweatshirts.) You should have the edges rolled under (for added stiffness to keep the shoulders from being limp) and machine stitched then draw on the lacing or even uses a big needle and some real lacing
Bag: The bag looks like a Military gas mask bag or map case
Boots: A pair of those Sheep skin boots by Ugg would work as his boots or some other type of boot or high top slipper that is made with split side of the leather on the outside. Ugg were meant to be indoor slippers but so many people wore them outside they added a rubber outdoors sole and they get beat up outside. A shorter slipper or boot could be extended with some “mule skin” in a matching color. The perfect thing would be if you could find some East European peasant boot called Opeki
Pants: Could use sweat pants, or some cotton pants like karate pants or Russian long underwear. I have had good luck with the Dockers made from thick softer material, I do not know if I have been finding older ones or they are from a different factory. I cut them off about 6 inches below the top of the boot I will wear then stitch in a tuck so the last 6 inches of the pants are narorwer to fit in the boot, worked for pirate pants as the overhanging shirt covered the modern zipper and for han solo I covered the seam with blood stripes.
The Sword: You can find cheap Chinese style “Ken” for fewer than 20 that are as dull as a wooden spoon and look close except they don’t have the ring on the end of the tang but you could change the nut on the factory tang for something with a ring. They come with there own scabbard in various colors some times its two swords in one sheath.
And of course I know some one who could make a either a scabbard and harness or just the harness
