Hello from Alaska!
« on: April 09, 2006, 04:50:06 am »
Hey everyone!  I'm new to the forums, considering going to this con!

Yes, I'm from Alaska, yes we have electricity, internet, and cars.  No, we don't have pet polar bears, dog sled to school/work, or live in Igloos.

Anyway... Hi.

I'm hoping to save up enough money to be able to go to this con, since I turn 18 a couple weeks before it.

^_^

Alaska is still the US and your money will spend just fine up there.  Things will be a bit more expensive but that just because it's Alaska and that is just the way it is.

*Sighs* I know Alaska is apart of the US and that they use the same currency as the rest of the nation. I was just giving the person a hard time/joking around with them.

I grew up in Hawaii and people still think that we live in huts on the beach and eat mangos, pinapples and coconuts all the time.  They also think they have to get a passport to go there and that they have to get their money converted to "Hawaiian" money.

People are nutz  so yippy for asumptions

I don't think I could go to alaska, I that whole sleeping while it is daylight just wigs me out.  But I did meet the mayor of Anchorage while I was competiting with my city in the All American City competition.  I think I still have an Anchorage Alaska button somewhere.. hmm

Anyway Sasu you should totally come, the experience would be worth it!  But make sure you take a few days extra to explore the area!

I would love to take a few extra days to explore and hang out with people, but the con happens to take place around the time my school starts.  Since it's my senior year, my mom wants me to miss as few days as possible.
