Like many conventions, Sakuracon had a dance on multiple nights. I don't know what the room(s) used for the dance are also going to be used for, but I do know I would definately be interested in going to more than one dance. Has this idea been proposed before, and is it feasible? I would think there is enough interest to hold two, again, though I don't know what space/funding allows.

If we could do that, it would double the pleasure, double the fun and effectively, remind me of Doublemint Gum. *Coughs* Yes, well... Yeah... If it's possible (have a feeling it'd be really hard to do, for some reason... Scheduling conflicts) that'd be beyond awesome.

I would be unbelievably giddy if there were two dances. I really hope they'll conceder it. Con dances are the best.

Last year [I'm not sure about this year] AO held two dances, and I went to both...This year I only went to one and did a snake of doom led by a Kinky Sasuke...I'd go! ^^ I love anime con dances!

I don’t dance, I'm to old and I walk funny if I have been up more than 6 hours.  Will there be any chaperones at the dance?   I can help confiscate all the liquor and bring rulers to ensure the boys and girls dance at least 12 inches apart.  I’ll need to watch every teen movie with a dance scene filmed between 1950 and 2000 to get all the tricks down.

Oh yeah VonDan and the Chaperone Aunts and liquor and rulers

I'll wear my tux

I think Gate Keepers takes place around that time.

*On topic*
For me it kinda depends.  If the extra dance conflicted with a lot of panels and such I would say stick with one.  If not, maybe but I'm not sure I would go to the extra one.

I've got the dance schedueled for Sat. and the A-key-kyo concert (provided they are okay with it) on Sunday nite. So I'm sorry, but unless they bail, there will probably be only one dance this year.

a little off topic:  can we bring in AMV's to the dance if they're to techno/trance songs?

I have a couple I'd love to hear/see on a huge screen/awsome sound system
2004 - 2007 Kumoricon Attendee
2008 - Operations Office Staff
2009 - Assistant Ops Director
2010 - Director of Operations
2011 - Registration Manager
2012 - Vice Chair
2013 - I can safely say that I'm not running for a board position :D

Speaking of Scheduals, like like year we had a schedual online a few weeks before the con, i know that it's early, but is it possible to make one now just to see what panels/events are already planned and when?

just wondering because of the concert, AMV contest and cosplay skits, it looks to be packed this year. ^_^ I'm really exctied.

RE: sheduels:

There will be one online before the con - I hope - as for right now, nope. The earliest I could convicebly get the scheduel online would probably be first of July. ALthough if you run a panel I am more than willing to send updated copies of the scheduel as the happen. *hint hint*

And I as a chaperone left over from the dance the night before I can be like in the movie American Hot wax and when the kids dance at the concert I can have the police drag them out in handcuffs and turn the house light on jerry lee Lewis.   Ohh I need to watch the movie breakfast club again, the actor who was the teacher just died and there is a great role model for a chaperone

What we could do is before and after the Concert have DJ's take the stage to warm up the crowd and then close the night.  It would let us go later.  It would be a bit more work on my part with the lighting and sound set up but I think it would be a possibility.  Dj gear is light and easy to move compared to the gear a band hauls around.  The main problem is conflicting with a sound check and set up.  I'm curious on how much time you've scheduled for set up with A-Key-Ko?  I have a feeling were going to need quite a bit of it.

I think Snakeling has a great idea. It can take awhile for a crowd to start getting into a band, the mood for dancing, etc. Music before and after the concert would begreat for the overall mood of the show.

Hey vondan, was the sock hop, hot and theamy?

I'll dance. Will I need to show up early to learn new steps?

Think I'm looking forward to this "first con" thing equally as dreading it. At least I know how to be saying sumimasen or gomen nasai after all the faux pas I know I'll make. Having stolen vondan's confiscated liquor.
Have Fun

Well there's a problem with this, Staff wanting to sleep. We're going to end up working a lot since there' sso many people going to be there this year. And we probly don't have enough peopel wanting to Shaerone muliple dances. Maybe when there' sanough Staffers to do it with out making us all want to sleep even more.
