My con story…gee, it feels so long, yet like yesterday.
Kumoricon was my first ever convention, and let me tell you it was and even more than what I was expecting! It was a total blast, and I was wishing afterwards that they had Kumoricon every weekend.
I went to get my badge a day early…and let me tell you, I was glad I did. I thought that line was long, and then I saw the next days`!
First I went to opening ceremonies, which were awesome! A-Key-Kyo is the best, I tell ya! And Bakazoku was hilarious! It was awesome.
I later went to the dealer’s room, which I loved. I picked up lots of 1-chapter manga comics, an Urusei Yatsura video, and tons of free swag for me and my friends! Needless to say, I was broke afterwards. But I had been saving for the con!
I went to the Anime Madlibs next. They were soooooooooooo fun! I decided to make one myself, too. There were lots of yaoi madlibs; and wouldn’t you believe it, I’m still innocent! XD
Then finally the viewing rooms! I rewatched a few titles, and saw new unlicensed ones (my favorite being Fairy Musketeer.) But even before that show, my main anime viewing event was none other than…THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA! I loved that one even more! It was hilarious, and the first episode was amazing.
While I didn’t cosplay this year, I got lots of awesome pictures. Some of my favorites were The Count from Gankutsuou and Belldandy from Oh My Goddess. I hope to cosplay next year!
I met some cool people, too. One person I talked anime and anime clubs with in the badge line, and one complimented me on my Otaku shirt from Hot Topic.
“Is that shirt from Hot Topic?!”
“Heck yes!”
“High five!”
‘High five’
Overall, my first con was absolutely amazing and wonderful. It’s a lot more fun to interact with fans in one place then just watching anime by yourself (even if that is very fun, too.) It was a friendly environment, I had so much fun. I hope that I will be able to go next year!
Thanks for an awesome con,
CardCaptorConnor-EX.
