Dealer's Room / Exhibitor's Hall
« on: August 30, 2006, 02:34:35 am »
I searched for information on this, and didn't find any, so I have to break my two-year silence and ask the most important question regarding anime conventions...

When does the dealers' room open?  How big will it be compared to last year's?

Sorry if I missed a thread where this question has been answered.  I appreciate the help though.

"...the riches of ages are stowed, Anything and everything a chap can unload..."

I went way too far for that reference...

Anyway, here's a rundown of stuff you can usually find at the vendor hall;

DVDs
Albums (CDs)
manga
plushies
weapons
toys
POCKY
doujinshi
art
t-shirts and other clothes

Oh, and lots of people. people who won't be eating out tonight after all.

I know only because I researched the origins of the name and term Chapman.  It's from the old English Cheapman one who buys and sells, after the french invasion of 1066 it was replaced by the french word Merchant and chapman ment a small time travelling peddler.  I have some old fairy books from around 1890 that refer to going to a Chaptown to find a Chapman to get supplies before the adventure.

And yeah my research had come up with Lyrics from bedknobs and Broom sticks

I played in an RPG once where we helped start a war between Jareth the Goblin Kind from Labrynth and the King on the Island of Naboomboo.

It was pretty cool.

LOLs Jareth! That was an awsome movie, but does anyone else think the cod peice was unnecessary since it was sort of family oriented? (If you dont know what a codpeice is Im talking about that beast in his pants.)

-_- That and the fact that alot of the time when I even MENTION Labyrinth to some people they don't think about, say... David Bowie, the music or just how cool it was. Nope. The automatic reaction, "That's the one where he has the huge bulge in his pants?"

*hand to forehead* Oy.
