Well all the recovery and clean up is done now and I'm ready to greet a new year of preparation for the next Kumoricon!
First, thanks again to everyone that helped us this year by giving donations and signing up for deliveries, and a special thanks to all the cosplayers we recruited!
Pocky Club got over 40 delivery requests this year and only a few of them went unanswered. To those of you who never received your pocky, I apologize. I'm working on a new centralized organizational system that should not just streamline the process of oputing an order in, but also make it get to your friend faster!
Thanks to the generosity of the convention goers and the hard work of our members (especially Princess Ruki and Neko_Chan) the club was able to raise over $100 in donations! Had there been more Pocky at the vendors tables we would have been able to buy plenty more. as it was, that balanced out the cost of our Pocky expenses going into the convention and enabled us to have some for ourselves even!
After all, if we don't get Pocky, we can't share with everyone else!
Now, on to new business!
Once again I've set my sights on Sakuracon.
The Pocky Club has long awaited a chance to make our presence felt up North and this may be the year it happens. We've got new members who may be going but we need to be prepared. I myself won't be able to attend until the club raises enough profits (that's money left after we buy Pocky) for me to afford admission. Even if I did go it wouldn't be enough to have just me there.
So if any of you are Pocky club members and will be at Sakuracon; or if you'd be interested in joining the Club and representing us there; let us know! you can either respond to this thread or email us at pockyclub@gmail.com
Finally, as the Club has grown in membership and ability over the last few years, I feel that we may be able to finally branch out of the convention scene and actually make deliveries at the meetings as well! If you'd like a n official Pocky club delivery made to a friend at an upcoming Kumoricon meeting then email us at pockyclub@gmail.com
Visit our website (Vallie has promised to work on it soon!) and eat more Pocky!
