Okay...I was watching VH1 this morning, and a Madonna music video came on and...well....SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE MELO IN THE VIDEO!!!

It was scary.

One of her live performances that I saw part of on tv had some anime playing in the background, so I think it's very possible that she or at least her video people are into anime/manga.

It took me a moment to figure that out even when I had the book in front of me.

Dan, you see Madonna rollin, you be hatin'  Seriously, why the axe grinding?  I've never heard it implied that the woman is stupid before.  It's not like were discussing Brittney "we should support the president because he's the president" Spears here.  Madonna made some kick-ass music, and, for what it's worth, she's hot now, and she was hot 20 years ago when I was in grade school.

I never said she was as stupid as Brittany.  I’m sure in most all the endeavors she is in Madonna (which is actually my mothers birth name) has the foresight to hire help that makes her look good in the eyes of her fans and the world.   Most of the really hot stars and performers are as much well marketed as talented, in entertainment hard work and luck count as much or more than talent.   Some people end up so famous they could go take a crap in the street and fans will say they are a genius.  I have actually never got into any sort of idol worship and don’t see the need to lower myself by artificially raising other people above.  And even when I was into music (And had 300 albums from before 1970 and two good ears) I felt the joy of the craft coming from the performers (I don’t feel that with any ting from the last 20 years) and respected that fact that they all did their own work with no distracting backup dancers and gimmicks (that’s why I found others such as Carl Perkins more interesting than Elvis and did not have any beetles after they started smoking the dope).  And I never found Madonna hot even 20 yearsa go and she is only a few years older than me.  The only pop star I ever found to be hot was Lisa Loeb she was beyond hot, then she had to ruin it by having a reality show ware she was looking for a date and ran round in under ware to get ratings.   She could have went out with me any time and wear those sexy Velma sweaters and glasses

I agree. And while most bands seem to be lackin in something lately, there are still great and crazy bands out there like Behold...THE ARCTOPUS! and Infidel?/Castro! and Voivod (although they're kinda withering away since piggy died)

But...yes...most actually "Famous" musicians now are ridiculous.

I miss Zappa.....
