I think you'd have better luck podcasting. You could reach more of your target audience.
We originally considered this, however we would have to be able to pay for mechanical reproduction rights for the music. Way to expensive to even consider.
Another idea that hasn't been legally challenged yet is to have an "On Demand" web audio stream. Instead of having to pay for mechanical reproduction rights, we might be able to pay the regular streaming audio fees, but the listener would be able to hear the show when they wanted (still can't be recorded legally though).
Another reason why we want to get this started at the radio station is so we have access to the professional broadcast equipment. Podcasting is pretty big, however the audio quality is poor at best for a lot of shows.
Maybe you could also do like an Anime Q&A. There's so many people out there that have no clue about anime. I'm lucky that my parents actually even understand what I'm talking about when I talk about anime.
Good point. Most radio shows, people will start by tuning in on accident or by hearing a quick 10-30 second promo for an upcoming show. To be able to potentially use a show like this to "turn someone on" to the genre is definitly important.
