^^; If you're worried about Keenspace giving out that information, don't worry about it.
I've been on Keenspace with
Bowspirit's Aim since November of 2001—so going on three years now, and six months later with
Flow of Destiny (and XDM, but I don't remember when I got that account and its dead anyway). In that time, I've never had any sort of problem with them giving out any information of mine. I gave them an email address that I didn't give anyone else, and it still gets NO mail whatever. I can't say that I don't ever get hardcopy spam (ie junk mail, in the mail) or telemarketers because of them, because I don't exactly have a seperate address or phone number I can give them, but I highly doubt that the really dumb realitor in the area with the handlebar mustache got my address from Keenspace ^^; Plus the people who run it are really nice, and I personally can't see any of them doing bad things with your info oO;
They do, on the other hand, have some banner ads that can't make up their mind what size they are, so my layout on BA is all messed up right now >_>;
Anyway, if you're still worried about it, you can always go to a non-automatic hoster. It means you have to update the pages manually (which I know from
Shadows is a bit of a pain), but you're not required, generally speaking, to give anyone any more vital information than your email address or a way to contact you. You could use Tripod, Geocities, or any of those annoying free-hosters, or you could look for independent domains that offer hosting. Before I got any domains, I was hosted on Windschaser.com by the friend of mine who owned it, and I know a lot of people are willing to host creative sites, like a webcomic would supposedly be.
If you can't find anything, email or message me or something, and I could probably set you up on
M1, as I'm already hosting at least
one other comic there ^^ My host (ActiveWebHosting, I don't necessarily recommend them if you're looking into getting your own domain >_>;) has the usual rules about pr0n and copyrighted material and suchlike (and they are SO retentive about movie files ><;), but I can't see anyone from KumoriCon with that sort of stuff ^^ Well, 'cept the movie files bit. Not a good place for an animator's portfolio =D;;
