When dashthegnome and I stopped by Uwajimaya we were looking through the gift area and found a few suprises!

So if any of you cosplayers need kimonos or oriental patterned tops, slippers or even.....uh Tabe? Hold on.....

TABI! They just got some Tabi in from japan. So go on over to Beaverton and buy them if you need them for your costume.

They had a few pairs of geta but nothing to get excited about.
Theres more to the store than Pocky and manga! Whoo!

:3 I love Uwajimaya.  Its my friend..  XD My mom and I get most of our food there.  I got a really good crab there once.  Mmmm, crab.  It came live~!

i alwayz wanted a kimono just didnt know where 2 buy them but my mom barley goes there lolz we used 2 go there ALL the time O_O

Uwajimaya is selling yukatas, not kimonos.  There is a difference.

Kimonos are worn with an obi and sash, while yukatas are just worn with a sash.  Yukatas are also tied on much differently, and are only worn in one light layer.  Kimonos, depending upon how fancy they are, can go anywhere from two layers to fifty.

Yeah, I'm looking into making/buying my own kimono to wear, but tying an obi is extremely difficult, and I suck enough at tying my shoes as it is. ^.^;

I have no clue.  I just know the difference between yukata's and kimono's from costume experience. ^.^;

Ranma's shirt is Chinese, hence my lack of knowledge as well. ^.^;

lol, when i first moved here to portland  i found out what a basement was....(i was 8) when i was in 7th grade, i found out about uwajimaya, and anime. im glad i found it. my mom kindof likes the place, but so freaking expenisivey. lol. speically the imported cds. i can understand why, but still, in port angeles washington, theres this place called ANIME HOUSE. and they sell imported cds for like...20 max, 10, and for cds with like 5 songs on it for 5 bucks. at uwajimaya, in that one book store i forget whats it called, they sel theyre cds with 5 songs on it for 20 dollars. wtf. lol, oh well. (at least i saw a cd like it there. so yea. im only saying). so if you have alot ALOT of money go there to get good stuff.

I must be one of the few if not only person who has a business card of Kinokuniya in their wallet.  Kinokuniya is the bookstore in Uwajimaya so it's basically the same address.

heh i have a kino business card also, I wrote the directions on it...

well i have 4 of the only cd's worth buying there - Porno Graphitti Foo?/worldillia/the black one with peacocks on it.. and mongol800's album... so i dont sweat the high prices (i got them throo a foreign exchange student who came to my school for a year [he was SO COOL!!!!])
