Making anime dvds

I'm trying to take the anime I have on my computer and put it on a dvd so I can watch it on tv.  My eyes can only take so much of looking at a small screen  :P  I was wondering if anybody knows of a good program where I can take my .avi files and put them on a dvd so I can view them from my dvd player.

Sonic is a great burning program. Not sure of the price, but it comes with Windows XP.
