Okay so I've been thinking alot about the con (con withdrawals and such) and I was thinking about how cool it would be to have a group of people working on their cosplays throughout the year helping each other out and motivating each other and such, and teaching noobs like me how to sew properly ha ^.^;;;;;;;

I don't know if there's already something like this out there, or where we could do it, but if people are interested I'd love to know :3 we can all organize it together ^.^

it could be really fun and I hope you guys think so too

Actually, there already is one: The Greater Portland Area Costumers' Guild

The Greater Portland Area Costumers' Guild meets every Tuesday night at B-Sharp Fabrics (4830 N. Lombard St.)  7-9 PM.  The members of the Costumers' Guild have varied interests including historical costumes, sciencefiction costumes, original costumes and anime costumes. All you need is an interest in costuming to be a member. Please do drop in / join the group. Business meetings are on second Tuesdays, but all other Tuesdays are for sewing. The shopkeeper, Brenna Sharp, is expert at fitting costumes and has over 40 years sewing experience.

By the way B Sharp Fabrics is also a great place to purchase metal boning (she sells it by the yard) for corsets, Lolita fashions, and other cosplay styles that ought to have boning (plastic boning is dreadful!).

there is the stich and bitch at the portland states womans resource center, you can go and learn to knit but they also say bring any project your working on, last year it was wensdays at 12:00

I just really want to learn how to sew so I don't have to pay other people hundreds of dollars what I know I have the capacity to do myself. I just need other people to teach me first :3

poor commuters DX I know how much it sucks to want to go to things far away :c plus my parents don't like that I'm into anime, so since I don't have a car that means NO MEETINGS EVER. it's t3h suck U_U
