Write a limerick!
« on: October 14, 2007, 08:38:26 pm »
If there's a haiku thread, why not limericks? ;D

Limericks are five-line poems with weird rules. Rhyming generally goes AABBA. A being a long line and B being a short line. Syllable count isn't too crucial as long as it close to the same number (though I could be wrong) http://www.poetryamerica.com/Limerick.asp is a good site to base yourself off of

Here's one that I wrote:

A poem is just a silly form
Of a student rotting in their dorm
Oh but solemn
Like a column
Poor student doesn't know what is warm

Have fun!

So, I realized that limericks have to be humorous. Crap. And I wrote like 10 limerick-formed poems the other day too!

Oh well, here's one, funny or not:

Door to door salesman check the mail
try not to leave a paper trail
your match is met
in credit card debt
They don't wear business suits in jails

urk, wasn't what I wrote on paper. fixed now!

Have you ever been seen with a mog
He's part of a man and part of a dog
He's such a lark
He doesn't bark
But he still leaves his "card" in your lawn
Have Fun
