Idea! Cosplay Cosmic Bowling
« on: February 14, 2008, 11:11:12 am »
So random idea, but wouldn't it be fun to cosmic bowl in cosplay. Cosmic bowling is late night bowling with blacklights, strobes, and other party lights....stupid florecent lights are off ^_^. It is pretty fun and would be sweet in costume. Anyway, what do you guys think? No date or anything set, just looking for some feedback right now. *Glomp* all of you.  :D

I think it'd be a blast, but I couldn't do it in any of my costumes, since they both have one hand "absent" if you will, heh. It'd still be a fun event though.

I concur, it would be fun. All of my costumes are two handed, so I wouldn't mind being in cosplay.

Good idea!! :DDD It sounds like it would be absolutely fun! Though I'm horrid at bowling in real life, but on the Wii I'm pretty good, not to brag. ;D tee-hee

I so agree that it'd be great. Warming, though: No matter how bad you are, I'm worse. xD Do you know when they have the sides up for little kids? So you won't get the gutter ball? I got it. I have no freaking clue how I did, but it's insulting. XD

Only bowling place I know is right next to the max.  I don't remember the exact stop, but I remember it was near the end of the line westward.  Pretty far for most people I think, although, its pretty close to sayda compared to all the other meeting locations =P.

Ohh really?
I know of a place; Park Lanes, it's right over by my dads. I know the owner personally, but I'm not sure if we'd get any kind of discount.

Sayda does that bowling ally actually have glow/cosmic bowling? I agree we need to find a location central to everyone, but only certain allys offer cosmic bowling.

Sweet! Checked out Park Lanes and saw that there is a discount for groups 5+. This might be a good one to keep in mind, but it is also in Hillsboro, so that might be a little far for some people.

It's about 5 - 10 minutes from Beaverton, depending on traffic. It also has a pretty big arcade, with DDR, pool, a lot of racing games, and Air Hockey.

There are two places that would be central for everyone. Since some people live in Eugene, I believe Tigard Bowl has cosmic bowling, and even bigger and better, I think Wilsonville lanes has it too. I might scope them out this week and see if they're possibilities.

I've been inside and it's a fairly great place. A good balance of arcade games and bowling lanes.

Funny thing is it's also next to the Bullwinkles restaurant and family fun center. Hmmm...unless everyone wants to still do cosmic bowling, maybe we could do it during the day and include--cosplay chibi-golf, go carts and/or laser tag?

All riiight! I live close to the Hillsboro location, so I can easily take the #57 bus there. If you guys can set up a more than 5 cosplayers group whenever it's convenient for any of you, and with my parent's permission, then hey, I'll be willing to go.

If possible, do you guys think you can set the event on the weekend before or the weekend after the Uwajimaya Sakura Festival this year?

In the mall, they can just walk by, though xDD

Here they'll be forced to watch us owo;

I have a feeling we would get many people curious about cosplay, because likely, someone would ask us something... Good opportunity for some publicity.

Yeah that could work. I mainly really want to do this, but as soon as summer hits (concert season) I will be working like crazy. So hopefully we can set it up sometime in May. I totally don't want to book it during something else. But the park/bowling thing would be cool.

Possibly. Since I live out there. It could even be a part of our epic T-Town meet up! XD Maybe after the first one since it's so out of the way and we can organize rides once we all get to know each other. ^^
