Pre-Con Anime Cram...
« on: August 21, 2008, 02:34:03 am »
So here's the story, I've neglected watching my new anime releases this year, the only two I've seen are "They Are My Noble Masters" and "Spice and Wolf" what else has come out this year (fan sub wise) that I should check out before the con? Taking any and all recommendations.

That's come out this year? Code Geass R2 (if you've seen the first season) <.<

That's the only thing I have seen that is this year.

Ah, well I thought by this year they were referring to con year, but no, I think Claymore was last year then.

Only a few more months till we get R1 Claymore >=D

I haven't really watched any new titles this year though. A little bit of Vampire Knight and Nabari no Ou but that's it. I've been wanting to watch Soul Eater but I don't have the attention span to watch anime on my computer, so I'll just wait until it get's licensed here :D

There's this one that I have seen a preview for and it looks awesome, but I am not sure if there are any full episodes available anywhere yet. It is called "Detroit Metal City", look it up if you get a chance. It is a manga and a live action movie, and I think they are just now or have started in the past few months to making an anime for it. It seems very much like a Japanese Metalocalypse (if you know what that show is, heh).

Kaiji is an absolute must. It's the most intense series I've ever seen. Plus, then you'd be able to recognize my cosplay.

Ah, I need to check Soul Eater out. I have heard that name, like, 5 times just today, so I am very intrigued by it. It looks cool (from some pictures I saw).

I am constantly surprised it took them this long to make Soul Eater into an anime.  I've had one of the manga (Japanese) for years.
But overall, yes, it is definitely worth a watch and is really creative.  Just so you know, the first tree episodes are character introductions before they break into the plot (I'm assuming since they followed really closely to the manga with the first 3)
