So me and my friends are new to cosplaying and was wondering if anyone had some cosplay tips that would help??? thanks

That's pretty vague.  Were you looking for anything specific?

If you're just starting out, the most general advice I could give is to cosplay something that you're going to enjoy, that will flatter you, and that is within your price and skill ranges.  Cosplay is supposed to be about having fun first and foremost, after all.

well, I guess some pretty basic tips that I can think of would be
1. ALWAYS get a wig! I don't care if your hair looks "somewhat" like the character or you think "you can just dye it and it'll be fine..."
2. try to be as specific with your cosplay costume as possible! if your buying a costume, make sure the company/seller has gotten good review!!
3. be IN CHARACTER as often as you can, sure there are moments when you just HAVE to squeel over that super cute axel that just walked by, but being in character can make your cosplay look a lot better.
4. PUT IN AN EFFORT! IT SHOWS!

I think using your hair is fine as long as you can get it to look like the character. For example if your character has straight brown hair and you have curly brown hair straighten it. If you can't do that then get a wig.

Although if money is tight no one will bash you for using your real hair.

The one piece of advice that I can give is to go the extra step. Take really careful not of everything your character has and do everything in your power to follow it.

Well, you don't /always/ need a wig ouo

I mean, if the character has pretty natural hair, it's easy to pull off...

And Jin (BehindInfinity) did a great Ichigo cosplay with their own hair 80

... But yes, if you can't dye like a professional, it'd be best to go with a wig than with nothing~
