Sushi Takahashi is now Sushi Ichiban!

Sushi Takahashi is changing their name and menus. Locations are the same, but if there are any of you who are die hard Sushi Takahashi diners, then now would be the time to go get a shirt or something memorable before the name changes officially.

We totally should. We should go to kick off the school year! School starts at the end of September, we should go sometime this month.

And out of curiosity, is there a reason why they changed their name?

I am not sure why they changed the name. I haven't heard. Maybe they were awarded the number one sushi shop in Portland award and wanted to change the name to reflect that, lol.

And that week sounds as good as any. It would be a good way to introduce some of the freshman to the on campus anime fans and sushi eaters, lol.

Curious, was Sushi Takahashi ever related to Takahashi(s) the restaurant?

Any idea when this change is happening?  I was at Sushi Takahashi 2 today, and it still had the same name/menu (also drove by the first location a few days ago, it still looked the same).

And yes, The Takahashi is related to the Sushi Takahashi (I remember seeing "The Takahashi" written on the wrappers for the chopsticks at Sushi Takahashi).

Yeah, I have no clue when it is starting, but I was just at Sushi Takahashi 2 on Tuesday and there was no change. I asked someone working there if they knew about the change and they had no clue. So, yeah, it must not be happening yet. And yes, the chopstick wrappers do list all three Takahashi shops, which is nice and convenient.
