Stand up comedy for anime?

Hey Everyone. I was randomly watching Dane Cook and then I started ranting on about different animes like a stand up comedy thing and it came to me. . . what if we had a stand up comedy show for anime's. People could sign up to do stand up and rant about funny things in animes and people could come and watch. Maybe we could serve some drinks or something. (non alcoholic)  Maybe even have some kind of schedule of what kind of anime's will be in stand up comedy form so people can check out there favorties. An idea I would love to try. What do you guys think? Questions? Thoughts? Wanting to sign up? Wanting to watch?
(An example would be...

Naruto and Bleach Stand up comedians -1pm to 2pm

Hellsing and Hell Girl comedians - 2pm to 3pm  ... This would be an example of the schedule, I just need to know who wants to do stand up, what kind of anime, which ones to put to geither and what time.  )

I have several hours of material, and I might be able to pull something off.

Thing is, most of my material is just general comedy; nothing too anime specific.

Thing about using anime standup comedy is that not everyone has seen all anime. For example, I have seen neither Naruto nor Bleach. So if I were to reference something that most of the audience doesn't get, the joke is lost. However, most everyone has lived a life in some way, so I can use this joke and it will be awesome:

Time machines are not as good as they're going to be.

well the ever present naruto and sailor moon. ones that most people with probably have some things to say about but then I have some others. mostly ones that I watch but I still love. I got some things to say about bleach, ouran host club, burst angel, and then a couple others. ^_^

Well that is why I'm asking what kind of anime people would like to do for stand up so the same animes can be grouped to either at a same time. I like the idea of having just regular stand up, I think it would be good as an opening, but I would also like to stay on topic. (I'm not saying its bad to have regular stand up comedy, I would love it if you would do some) And besides, in the cosplay contest people do funny skits and sometimes I don't get them because I don't know the anime they are doing. I was thinking of doing something along the lines of...

naruto, bleach, salor moon - 1pm-2

I think anime-related stand up comedy would be fantastic! XDD Most people would get jokes from really popular series, as long as they aren't too specific, or they site inside jokes that everyone knows about. It's all about delivery, too; you could have a really funny joke and completely blow it because you didn't deliver it right. So, I say have at it. ^^ I personally would like to get involved if I can... Not sure though. I've been wanting to do cosplay stand up for a while now, after watching some on Youtube. ^^

Also, I would ask people not to simply quote directly from a show or other comedian's routine. That's just awkward and not funny. >>

This is an interesting idea and I believe that most people will get the jokes for the popular animes. I mean as long as you know the gist of the anime being discussed you should be fine

Thing is, most of my background is drawn on my personal experiences with stuff, and not so much on anime. I've only watched about five series completely through. Most stuff goes unseen.

Start brain storming and coming up with idea's. Write them down, practuse, (maybe in front of friends to get feed back) and practuse again when Kumori-con is coming up. You have a while but you can start preparing when you like... just not at the last minute.

Well, I already was working on some anime themed material for my stand up act. I was actually going to do something like this at K-con lite, but I had something else to do that day. For the most part, my act is more of a "normal" routine: I talk about anime, but I don't rant about it.
