Shows you watched when you were little!
« on: December 04, 2008, 01:14:30 pm »
I remember when childrens' programming was actually GOOD...  Man, those were the days.

What shows did you watch when you were a little kid?  I remember when I was five years old there were some really neat childrens' shows on the air.  What happened to the good old days? :(

Shows I remember watching:
Eureeka's Castle (probably my favorite)
Sesame Street
Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show
Lambchop's Playalong
Reading Rainbow
That one with the train station (I can't remember what it's called, but it was kinda like Reading Rainbow)
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
Lunchbreak Theatre (on Nickelodeon.  It's weird; I can't find any documentation of this anywhere on the internet.  I think it was a compilation of different works.)
My Kumoricon 2008 photos can be found here.

Rugrats
Ahhh! Real Monsters
Wild Thornberry's

From when I was REALLY little:

Thomas the Train Engine
Barney
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Berenstine Bears
Aurthor
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
I also watched Lambchop, too!

I was never fond of Seseme Street, though. x.x

Sesame Street (Before Elmo and the Count)
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (When his hair was still black)
The Electric Company (Yes, we are talking the 70's folks)
SchoolHouse Rock (when they first came out)  ;D

Pretty good for only 4 channels.  And on Saturday morning:

Scooby Doo (Before Scrappy)
Flintstones
Jetsons
Classic Hannah Barbera, Warner Bros., and MGM cartoons

I remember some pretty strange stuff  Here is a sample:

Fire's old cartoon openings part 1
Fire's old cartoon openings part 2
Fire's old cartoon openings part 3
Fire's old cartoon openings part 4

I also watched some live action stuff:

StarTrek (classic)
Batman (Adam West at his best)
The Flying Nun (Sally Field before Smokey and the Bandit)
The Brady Bunch (I had a crush on Cindy)
The Partridge Family
Gilligan's Island
Bewitched
I Dream of Jeannie
I Love Lucy
The Munsters
The Adams Family
Petticoat Junction
Green Acres
Beverly Hillbillies

Hmm.. That's about all I can think of for eary childhood.

In my teen years I liked:
Space 1999
Battlestar Galactica (the original)
Six Million Dollar Man
Bionic Woman (the original)
Knight Rider (the original)
StarTrek (NG & DS9)
Buck Rogers in the 21st century

Well that ought to be a fair start.  Gotta love the TV babysitter.  ;D
