I feel like there should be a thread for all those interested in taking pictures of cosplay, and all those who want pictures of themself taken. Cosplayers and photographers alike feel free to come here and negotiate photoshoots and the like.

Personally I would love it if a photographer could do a photoshoot with me in my cosplay. Prices are negotiable, and we could meet at Mewcon perhaps :3

professional when we go to the Japanese garden oslap! my friends mom is actually photographer so I might be able to get us free photos or discounted. (I hope Janelle doesn't read this and get mad for some reason)

yeah I hate having bad pics. either you can't take a decent one yourself or the camera sucks.

yeah my camera sucks. It doesn't take good indoor pictures x.x and it has a crappy zoom >_<

for all of 08, I had to rely on my camera phone. hopefully, next year it will be some better pictures as I was able to pick up my digital camera at my mother's.

I just wish I could afford to buy a good DSLR camera like one of the new Nikons. But there expensive, especially the lenses.

the flash is broken on mine. DX gotta get that fixed. and I need to get a larger memory card. I want to take tons of pics this year.

but yeah I wish I had a professional camera but it'd be harder to lugg around then.

Ugh I would totally want to take pictures if my camera wasn't so horrible. It's not to bad but it tends to be blurry if somethings moving which is hard for spur of the moment pictures.

But yeah, it's annoying when people have really nice cameras but can't ever take a decent picture >: Or can't even change the settings like turning off the flash o-o *knows people like that*

I have a decent camera and have been dying to do my first photoshoot! It blurs easy inside, but outside it can even take a pic of someone running clearly?
Ahhh~ I wish I had a DSLR xD

If there's ever a group planning a shoot around Portland, give me a heads up :X I wanna tag along...

Oh, and if anyone wants some free prints (though only regular-sized or small >.<) I could probably do that~ 83 I dunno how much it costs to print digital photos at stores, but if you're going to a future meetup and want one of your photos printed, then.. yeah! 8D

sweet. :3 yeah I know someone people that can't change the settings either. >:/ I think their probably is going to be a group shoot in Portland at some point. I know a couple groups that I'm in are probably going to have them somewhere downtown. so go ahead and tag along.

man not from my perspective. I know of tons of photographers. it's a growing profession with a dwindling economy. not many people go to professional photographers much anymore.

whys that? I see it as your being someone else for the day so you can easily act like someone else. it was hard for me in front of a camera because I didn't know what to do but when i took some cosplay pics I was like 'this is so easy.' I just sort of moved with whatever pose came. if you know the character your portraying then you know what to do.

but that might not be the reason you wouldn't hire someone. :/ lol

lots of people haven't. it's just don't think about you think about the clothes. what emotion, feeling, or thought you want to get across the viewer as you show them what your wearing. there are those that have a directer type person that tells them what to do but it's not always going to be like that.

most of the time if you tell the pros they will put you in poses and you don't have to do anything

but sometimes it doesn't always work out because they don't know how the character should be posing. like if they took picture of princess tutu acting like naruto. that'd be weird. lol XD

I got an amazing camera from a family friend once I figure out all the features and stuff I would totally love to do a photoshoot. (if my mom would let me)

ugh I don't like not being able to do things I want just because I'm "to young" or whatever
