My whole family has been getting hit with this huge cold like flu like virusy like thing and so far I'm the only one who hasn't gotten it..but i can feel swollen glands in my throat and i think im getting sick

and the medicine my family bought for whatever sickness they have isn't helping

I'm scared

After the tournament I worked at yesterday, my throat got scratched up. Usually (like today), the next day my throat hurts AND I'm congested.

My mom has been like throwing up and snotting...my sister is coughing up a lung and snotting..and my step dad is trying to be a man and not showing anything (he's the only guy in my household

Of course he's gonna try & hide it; he knows that no matter how hard he's been hit, if he shows any sign of weakness, women will pick on him. Denying it makes them look stubborn to you ladies. It's a lose-lose situation for us; either help us or leave us alone.

Buy several packs of Cold-EEZE! They're these hard candies (more or less) that you suck and don't chew. My dad has been buying them, and I've been sucking them down, and I feel so much better! You can find them at like Fred Myers and... well just about everywhere. They cost like 5 1/2 dollars, but trust me it's worth it.
(btw they come in various flavors)

I've been sick too! So much for that 3 day weekend spent trying to get better. My wife was trying to tell me it was some sort of bacterial infection, but hey lady, the dentist gave me a prescription for penicillin because of the bacterial infection that caused me to need that root canal. So it better not be bacterial.

I feel I now know what hacked up a lung means. OMG!

well, I suppose what you could do is always get good rest and lots of liquids (saltine crackers and 7up tends to work wonders). No need to be scared by the way, It's going around right now. hope you get better soon.

I was starting to get sick last week. Just make sure you get a lot of rest and stay warm ^^
I was able to get rid of it pretty fast just by taking it easy.
