How much do you spend on cosplays?

I am just curious... for those that are cheap but good, or those who go all out and spend close to a thousand dollars... I want to know how much everyone spends per costume they make/buy.

Alright for Temair I spent about $50
Youji was also about 50
Misa was about 80
Deidara was a little more expensive at 115
Kimimaro was 230

And my two most expensive ones.
Albel has cost me about 300
and Cloud we are looking about 400 x.x

Even the cosplays I have tried to keep on the cheaper side came out pretty expensive.

My first cosplay, Ruby Moon was made out of that horrible costume satin that everyone hates and had a Halloween wig and it still cost me around $70. I learned my lesson though. Others are as follows...
Haruko: $80
Bridget: $120
PJ Bridget: $60
Miria: $100
White Mage: $160
Cassandra: Going on $170

I think you need to spend a bit of money for a costume to look good to either get decent fabric or decent craftsmanship.

Yeah The reason my Cloud costume is costing so much is because the sword I am getting made for it. If the sword looks great then I may have him make Albel's gauntlet as well.....latter on though, when I have more money

So that would increase the price of Albel probably to about 500 x.x

Hmm, the few cosplays I have done have not actually cost me all that much, but these are all just rough estimates.

Vincent Valentine - approx. $200
Barret Wallace - approx. $70
Azul the Cerulean - approx. $200-300

I guess I spent more than I thought!

I try to spend less than $100...

My cheapest one was Soi Fon for about only $5-10. I had borrowed most materials and had some useful things around.

Well my most expensive one is my Charlotte outfit.. it's cost was $475 and that's without the shoes and underslip I need to get for it :/ which would make it around 500

Wow, Ima poor college student...so I try and get creative with things and not spend so much moolah on my cosplays. But, some things you just gotta buy! I'm sure the higher the investment, the higher quality of the cosplay.

Yeah I am in college too, that is why I try to work as long as possible on the weekends so I can buy the costume or the material I need to make it

Well I just made gloves for Albel and they are tearing a little at the seams....so I may just sew little holes that come a long and be fine with it
