I posted a poem... you could do the same :)
« on: February 18, 2009, 01:20:37 am »
Thought a Poetry Thread could be fun.... just something I scribbled out a while ago
Comments are always welcome

Untitled

Rush down

       Right around

In a haze; this purple maze

Lemondrops, like teardrops,

Rush down this stained glass face

Punch in

           Kick back

Boars paw to the Rooster's maw

The bells tolls; a new child strolls

In dark the light bleeds grace

 Fade in

            Fade Black

Awake to dawn; this living yawn

Junky veins are the Lion's bane

And no one can find thier place

Yay, poetry. ^_^

Here's one I wrote recently, it's called Laera.

And I will say if anyone steals it, I'll effing murder you.
------------------------

Laera

Death did still my trembling heart
When with Laera it did depart.
With ashen wings it did eclipse
Her azure eyes – those pouting lips!
What right has claimed their sanguine hue?
What office left them cold and blue?
That breath has ceased to from them sluice…
Laera, Laera! My own lips to loose…
A sigh and shudder flees my frame
Whene’er my mind recalls that name,
The days She whiled whilst in my arms,
Pulse impassioned ‘neath Her charms.
Oh, the humour with which cruel fate does dote –
What one hand gave the other smote!
Rent joy went when desire met plot,
Through which brum bereavements and adieus are wrought.
This plot stole the flutter that within me was wont,
And made of a garden a benighted ghoul’s haunt.
With ivy thus courting thee, Laera my dear,
No sun, moon, or star can scatter such drear,
No light pales the pall that thy passing has left –
No song stirs my spirit…only thou were so deft.

Death did still my trembling heart,
And yet unplucked remains the dart
Whose potion twined one soul of two,
Unfreed before the parting cue.
For though repose thou do naught but,
Thy azure eyes have never shut –
In dreams I descry the tranquil gaze
That marked the finest of my days.
The weary sleep that woe provides,
Like nepenthe that from Poe hides,
Knights this mind with visions rich,
But ne’er again have I heard that pitch
That once wove melody with arachnid skill –
The song that midnight skies would fill.
How lithe the silk of song thou poured!
How sweet beyond the craft of chord!
No note string made could supplant the seed
That every breath watered with loving heed.
Only in the fleeting reaches of dream
Do I glimpse those lips and, if derf fates so deem,
The last dulcet remnant of Laera McGee –
I’m in love with a phantom twice torn from me.

This is one I wrote that actually got published along with a painting! ^^

Lotus of the Eternal Night

Twelve are the regions of cosmos around
A destiny waiting - to which we are bound;
Twelve are the labours through which we must pass
Striving, enduring, and falling, at last

Is time a line, with beginning and end,
Or is it round, only subtle of bend?
Is Cosmos a tomb with no meaning thereof,
Or Dream-World Ballet with the Goddess of Love?

Shimmering rainbow mist wings of the night,
Fluttering currents of lonely starlight,
Drift in the swirl of celestial Rose;
Far in the blossom She waits in repose

Ever it seems that the Darkness is deep,
That sorrow is endless longing for sleep;
Yet music plays hushed in the night cold and long -
So dance in the tomb, to the tune of Her Song...

^ That's amazing, Lotus! I love the imagery, it's so rich and captivating. Great work, and that's really cool that it got published. What publication was it in?

It was presented alongside a painting with the same title in an independent gallery ^^
I loved the title of the painting, which is why I wrote the poem. (and consequently why I'm 'NightLotus') The artist liked my poem and included it in his art ^^.

Yours is really amazing too Eve! It is very inspiring! I really can feel the emotion in your words ^^

Yay! I was afraid no one would post anything

Eve, have you ever wrote Elizibethian Sonnets? I think you'd rock at it.

Here's something I had published in a poetry collection called Eye Rhyme back in 01

Wraith

Something like 3 am
Fingers illuminated in the glow of my monitor
Hunting and pecking for the right words
The widescreen hi-def sits behind me
TiVo’ing something I’ll never have the time to watch
I sit; endlessly trying to satisfy the anal puppets
           Of a monotone curriculum
I brush off my slacks and start a new paragraph

While somewhere you lay sleeping
In peaceful darkness
Empty pizza boxes and smoldering ashtrays
Keeping you company
Your body compresses the egg crate
Which you have come to call a bed -
You dream of f#$&ing

Four hours  - until I go to work without sleep
And dream - I was you

Here's another From Same Publication

The only words ever spoken to me from the women I love

Can I write that down...
On my hand...
With your pen?

Write a Poem!? (R)
« Reply #7 on: February 28, 2009, 05:35:48 pm »
if theres a topic like this all ready my bad
(yes my poems are dark)

spreading like a god

like a poison down within

needles of this to say yet another

there's another yet I cant begin

the heart

is a poison

@#$%! as i am a plege I bury down with in

yet I say I come to as in a the blood I bleed

the temptation I seek is of but retribution

the heart is but death to all

as I grab the knife and start my fall

cutting to find the poison deep inside

I am heartless and must stay that way

every one has took the best of my heart and cut it away

My death will not hurt

it will be the best for all

I leave behind for this for all to see the body of the unknown

Considered a poison

I am a poison

Really emo prose from years ago....

My world is night and I cant see.

Each little demon claws at me in the Darkness.

I cannot move.

The thick blanket of solitude chokes me
and I cannot breathe.

Fear holds me close in its cold hands of terror
as my world collapses in around me.

A world made of fractured black glass that
peirces into my flesh, much to the
delight of my demons.

They laugh in my misery.

There laughter pierces my soul, violently
ripping at my forgotton heart.

No one hears me when I scream.

No one holds me when I cry.

My demons grow bigger and their scalding
putrid breath burns my skin.

I am scarred.

I am alone.

I am afraid.

Thier eyes burn my mind.
Making me weak and I see that in each pair of
their eyes are the memories of why they are there.

Reminants of my mistakes.

True meaning behind why these demons are mine,
and mine alone.

Each regret, each fault that is inevitibly mine.

Memories that have been carved into my very bones
through memory, day after painfull endless day.

I cannot escape.

Positivity has left me.

Light is lost in my heart.

Yes, actually. I really like to play around with classic styles, forms, and structures, so Ihave written a few sonnets. Thanks for the comment, and I really like your poems you posted, too. You have some really interesting imagery there. It's fun. ^_^

For Freshman English, way back when, I wrote an epic poem in iambic pentameter, using the monster from Alien as the protagonist. I got a gory but good for a grade! lol

I bet it finally disappeared when my mom moved to Hood River. Or my ex-wife cleaned my house, before she cleaned my house.

Nothing is as fancy as what is on TV
Something should be done
Does anyone know how to cook anymore?
Or is that only on TV too?
Something is not right
I have gotten fat
At least fatter than I was
But I cook, and not frozen dinners
At least no so much anymore
Maybe they got frozen in my middle
they've never gone away
I've eaten better
What's on TV
Junk and now junk food stars!
At least we don't have so many junkies on TV
not like we used to have
except Jauquin Phoenix
Maybe he needs to get fat
I sure seem to be a lot happier with myself
But
Yeah, mine has gotten bigger too
It's hard to tell it's all behind me
But my bright future has me sitting in front of a screen
And now they've shown me how to get TV
Just what I needed.
Have Fun

Follow me

The night is black, but my love glows bright.
Fight the cold darkness, I'll show you light.

On wings of magic through a foggy sky,
Grasp my hand tight and we shall fly

To a land of enchantment where dreams roam free,
Where anything is possible if you believe.

And the truest love rules over the land.
Will you please, love, take my hand?

That's classic, I'd love to read that. For our Honors English (sophomore year of high school) iambic pentameter exercise, I wrote "An Ode to My Favorite Door"--about the tapestry of Jim Morrison's face that was over the door of my bedroom.

I'll try to find something printable. Most of my poems (including those performed on stage and at conventions and on live tv, and those posted in art galleries with art and/or photos by or of me accompanying them) have been either about surviving rape, about sexuality, and/or about witchcraft rituals. So, hm, I'll see if I can find something printable in an all-ages forum .....yah. Great reading everyone else's though!

^///^ I wrote this when I was actually suppose to be writing a haiku...

>.> As you can see, it's not a haiku, XD but it turned out alright anyway.8D

The glass crown shatters;
As dazed eyes peer on.
Failure leaves his robe in tatters,
Now just a forgotten pawn.

And can you hear his Kingdom crumble?
And can you hear his pride fall?
Too bad he took that tumble;
Now the King must learn to crawl.

Rough, short, and makes no sense at all.:D

Hmm, I mostly just do lyrics these days.

I don't have my huge binder full of song lyrics on me, but here are the lyrics I wrote recently to a song I wrote nearly five years ago:

The Wanderer

He is wandering
through infinity;
for there is no beginning or end.
He is pondering
for eternity:
how did his soul become rent?
And the wanderer
keeps on wandering
through a which does not exist.
But the wanderer
keeps on wandering.
The warrior in his heart shall persist.

The maiden hides
by the rising tide
mourning the loss of her love.
And while she cries,
her loved one rides,
But he's caught in pandemonium.
The crash of the waves;
the hearts of the brave;
Tell her to carry on.
And the warrior's bride,
is a warrior inside,
That maiden will never give up.

His soul is trapped within the abbadon.
Trapped in a place from which none return.
His battle is one which cannot be won.
And yet he's fighting on.

So I just came up with this one

Go Out With a BNAG

Each night I lie awake,
and I wile the hours away.
I dream and scheme but never seem,
to convince my mind to sit and stay.

It always tends to wander,
and dwell on a curious thing.
I always wind up wanting to just
go out with a B.N.A.G.

A lady who exhibits grace,
discipline, insight, and style,
despite what you might think, and what you might want,
is not always worth the while.

A woman who fends for herself;
independent, athletic, and keen,
can tend to frustrate, or become quite irrate,
I seek someone quite in between.

The girl that I seek,
who is perfect for me,
is the elusive and Beautiful,
Neuro-Atypical
Girl.
Yes, the girl of my dreams is a Beautiful,
Neuro-Atypical
Girl.

Desisions

Thoughts, feelings.
situations, plans.
Acting, reacting.
Your life's in your hands.

Make it anything
anything at all.
Form a beginning,
no matter how small.

Judge, change,
make a move, take a step.
Adjust, re-arrange
Retrace your footsteps.

But remember to follow
the path you have chosen.
Your fears, you must swallow,
your web has been woven.

This is about future. XP Wrote it December 12th, 2008
