June 20th Picnic- NOT Cancelled
« on: April 27, 2009, 12:26:04 am »
I hope this is basically ok... x_x

Place: Yashiro Gardens, Olympia WA
Day: June 20th
Time: 10am-4pm
Head Count: 10-15?
There are a few basic rules and info here: http://www.freewebs.com/witchcollection/garden/index.html

UPDATE
oO Apparently I can afford to go... Ugh people confuse me when they do random things like "here's five bucks" when they are broke themselves...

I can't afford to go (shocking isn't it, gas prices). -_-; So if you still want to meet up you're welcome to, but I can't go~ T-T Oh well, I'll live. Sorry for anyone who got the day off or planned to go- you still can go, you'd just be missing one body.

Basic run down, the Risembool Rangers (Vic Mignogna fanclub) unofficial-official organizer Near (aka Veraca) has decided to try and get a cosplay photoshoot in June for those who either couldn't go to SakuraCon, or just if you want to wear a cosplay for one day in Olympia and act like an idiot.

I haven't gone to look at it in person yet, but I will try to sometime soon so I can see what space we'll be working with. There might actually not be enough room for the glomp circle - if just because I made an agreement with the maintenance that we wouldn't smush or ruin the vegetation at all.

So! ^^ I was wondering if anyone would plan on going to it? (If so I need a head count of how many total.)

*I did as the park recreational people in Olympia and they said it's fine so long as if it's a group of 15+ people that we try to not smush the plants and stuff. So if anyone's plotting a glomp circle, please remove those thoughts from this ^^;

*I still haven't gotten to go look at the place yet @.@ I will... Soon. I hope... I plan to go supposedly on Wednesday this week.

Yeah Olympia is kinda far.. Least it's not Seattle... -_-;
I'm tempted to see if a little "Good Bye Lloyd Center" one in August would work too, since that's in Portland.

^_^ Got some pics of the place. It's not HUGE, but it's a nice cozy size. And it has grass to lay on and what not, and a little pond with like... loooots of koi in it @.@

lol no XD As a little bit of humor that Kumori won't be there - and it's got a nice park T-T
Instead it'll be at the Hilton.

XD It's not like it'll be a cake walk for me either. I'm going there after I've already moved off campus, so I've got a good 3 hr car ride myself. I'm just used to long car rides so it doesn't bug me - and I get pretty good MPG.

lol I was thinking boatride, but the problem with that is if it's not a ferry the boat has to be big enough for the group and has to have insurance enough to ease the parental unit's minds... So it's the park XD;

The odds of the location changing at this point are pretty much nil x_x;

God I would love to go! I saw this on Sakuracon forums. I sadly have to be at home for that weekend. My Aunt is coming to town so I need to hang out with my family. I am hoping to go to June Gasukan so I hope to see you there.

Double post my bad ><

But I've got a pic of the garden. I'm on the hill above the waterfall/pond pointing out toward the grass obviously. On the left is a small gravel clearing, there's a bamboo walk thing behind the center trees and to the right is another little hill. And there's a hill on the farther left along with a large Japanese type obelisk.

It'll be WAY too far for me: I'll be in southern California at that time.

O.O Nice! I bet psychology, ethical and stuff books would be a BLAST to talk about there! Right now in my ethics class we're arguing with our teacher about what a "criminal" is -_- And she's arguing only a political point.

x_x Ew double post...

So it's getting closer in date, and was wondering if anyone else is planning to come? I know that about 12-15 people are coming supposedly.

I'm both nervous and excited for this~ Namely because I have to glare at gas prices >>; They just aren't pretty right now.

Well I can't afford to go there, and some of the others coming up from Portland can't go either. So like half our people decided not to go cause I wasn't going @.@ I figured it'd just be easier to cancel it then. If I could afford to go, I'd really love to.
