Alrighty, so I've figured out that I /do/ in fact have school this day. I'm still hoping to show up around four, but I get out at 3, with an hour drive, and that's assuming I don't get lost. It's really nothing; just a clue to Laguna being the Prez before you meet him. If you talk to a solider or some person outside the palace in Esthar, they say something along the lines of "The president is requesting an invention so you can scratch your back without using your hands" or something like that. It's supposed to be a clue to the President(Laguna) being a crazy lil fruitcake. XD
