Meh. cosplay is for fun, you should never be tied down to anything. Do what you want to do.

Some try to follow the trend from one to the next, some cosplay for age-less fun. I lie somewhere between these two, but that's just me. So as a new cosplay of an old legend, I'm closing in on being Pokemon Trainer Red.

I just received notice of an important schedule change:

The July 4-5 weekend event has been canceled, but the August and September events will continue.

Quote
After careful consideration, the Dragon Moon Festival Committee has decided to cancel the July Dragon Moon Festival. We've realized that even with your generous support our target audience of families and those interested in food, culture and entertainment have fewer resources this year and we are shifting our plans to align with the economic realities of Oregonians this summer. For us that means we should not compete with other city wide events including local back yard parties and the Waterfront Blues Festival held during the celebratory July 4th holiday.

To this end – our next Dragon Moon Festival will be on August 1st and 2nd. By doing so, we will be able to position the festival for greater success. We'll see you in August!

By focusing on the August weekend we can hopefully put on the strongest impression by having our artists and cosplayers there for that weekend.

Don't worry there will be some really really nice ones. We are going to have a photographer there and they take some pretty sweet shots. I'm looking forward to it. And we will head over to this after the shoot.

I'll try to be White Magin' on the 2nd then, since I'm pretty sure I'm going to be helping with the K-con booth.

I don't want to be in it period. It isn't really cool to sign me up for something without me saying it was ok.

Ah! I don't want to be in a skit either! Sorry, I just don't really like them. I just wanted to put out there that I would be wearing Final Fantasy cosplay on that day.

Is the 4th and 5th of the festival still happening?
Either way, whatever day I might come and test fire Turk Trunks if I can.

Unfortunately, the entire remainder of the Dragon Moon Festival events for 2009, after the June event, have been canceled. The Dragon Moon Festival is planning on returning for 2010. Thanks to those who participated and attended in June!

No, it was just that the attendance wasn't strong enough to sustain the participation of vendors and others over 3 or 4 events.

It's really sad though :/ They only had one event, and then when they canceled the others, they waited so long to do so. It must've been a real let-down for people planning to perform or sell o_< I know it was for me.

I think it was a last-minute decision, cause they were sending me schedules just a few days before. I'm sure they were really trying to make it work and I know they invested a lot of effort into it. (I waited until they posted the cancellation on their site before posting it here, though it was several days before that that they told their vendors.) Maybe a single event would be best in the future (like they had done in the past), so everyone plans to attend at the same time.
