One that you made entirely yourself or one that you buy online?

You'll get more respect if you made it yourself. Still, it requires other skills to truly rock a costume.~ As long as you have fun though, it doesn't really matter.  :D

And I've had an experience of getting an outfit online. I said that I was going to get an XL outfit of Yuki Cross's school outfit, but when I got it, it didn't fit me. It seemed to be and XS to me. It sucked cause I was waiting to get it. T^T

It depends. If you can't sew well then your best bet is online if you want to cosplay. I can sew only very basic stuff so I buy a lot of mine on line. And the places I but them seem to have a good quality so I don't mind too much. I tend to alter them a little too so they are more accurate.

Yeah I'm not good in the sewing category, but hopefully I can take some classes during the summer and get better so someday I can make my own costumes.

So if you can't sew very well it might be better to buy them. Though I would find someone who would commission it for you to your measurements rather than buy one at a store.

I can sew enough so that it is not horrible but all the seams on my costumes are bad. I can't seem to sew straight lines x.x

Well I'm going to commission for a costume that I'll probably get before K-Con, but I just have no idea what to do with the shoes.

You will feel more attached and pride if you made your costume but sometimes you got to work with what you got. I'm better at making props and styling wigs than I am the actual outfit. So I focus a lot of my energy there. And if I can I try to make outfits out of everyday things. I try to go to Goodwill and find something that might work if it was altered a little.

What costume is it?

I enjoy making my own; I purchased a sewing machine last year so I can have fun with some cosplay projects. I have no experience with sewing, but have been doing well through trial and error. My cosplays have been decent :P

By making it myself, I only pay a fraction compared to buying one online.  But, I know a lot of people prefer to pay the extra and not have to do any manual labor, so it's all good. Good luck, and since ur thinking about commissioning, make sure you do a little research to see if they are reliable! Good luck Vesperia fan! :D
And so it begins...

Yeah I am slowly getting better at sewing. For small projects I'll do it but for bigger ones I am just going to buy it :P

@nikkiolie : The costume is of Estelle from TOV, I really don't have a problem with the wig or anything, it's the shoes. I don't know how to make the golden parts of her shoes.

To me buying one online just seems complicated XD
It's much cheaper to commission from a con goer or make it yourself ^_^
