I've been looking at lolita stuff since about jr high and I can honestly say I've never seen anyone look good on wa-lolita '~' Maybe the closest are those shorter hime-gyaru-style kimono that you can buy in Shibuya, but that's it.
-sob- I know. ALAS.

Also, I just received two petticoats, so I figured I'd give mini-reviews on them? There won't be any pics because I'm too tired to put stuff on and take pics but maybe later~

I have a Leg Avenue A-line petti and a VictorianGirl cupcake petti. The VictorianGirl petticoat gives MASSIVE poof. Like, squeezing through doors poof. It's a bit long with my MmM dress but that dress isn't cupcake shaped anyway.

The Leg Avenue petticoat isn't nearly as poofy but it has great shape and is by far poofy enough for a lolita silhouette.

AND UH IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK.

If you want poof every tried looking for square danceing peticoats i have one and it works amazing

The VictorianGirl petticoat is a square dancing petticoat, basically a knockoff of the Malco Modes pettis.

I'm happy with my petticoats for now, though, but thanks.

I have a Malco Modes petticoat, but it's more A-line, so I usually roll the top to make it shorter and put a Bodyline petti on top of that to make it more cupcake shaped. If I'm going more casual I'll just do a couple of Bodyline ones.

Which color should I get of this?

http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct.asp?id=6411&pageNumber=1&pageStop=stop_1&noSubType=N#picture

I don't like the beige and the black is too much which leaves pink, lavender, and mint. My favorite color is lavender but I want to know people's opinions on which color goes best with the pattern. Here is a close-up of the pattern:

http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/frame01.asp?type=new&tor=5

Please let me know~! This is going to be my next purchase!

Also, my JSK came today~ I need to find a better shirt to wear with it but it's so lovely and soft and flowy :D

You know... Ive always considered getting into lolita... and today some one linked me to Mary Magdalene... I think officially I'm going to start buying the fashion... It's just so.... cute.

(I'm not an OTT sweet fan myself though so I'll probably stick with classic. Looks adorable on others just not my style)

As I mentioned before, it isn't so bad by itself, either. Maybe not good for OTT sweet, but it's got a good silhouette for classic and gothic.

I've got one by them and if I had much more poof my JSKs would start doing funny things at the waist because I would have more poof than skirt.

Then again I'm fairly Classic. But I like the petti I have right now.

Is that your own blond hair, or a wig? I cant tell lol
But! if it is your real hair, I think some cute curls and a half up-do would look nice. kinda like this ~~~> http://egl.livejournal.com/9355855.html

As for accessories, maybe some black and red hairclip bows in the curls, and some black pear earings?

It's actually my Sheryl Nome wig, hahahahaha. I have it in a braided kind of updo thing with a big clip right now, dunno if I'll change it or even wear it to the meet at Kumo. I probably need a different dress shirt before that. I don't own much in the way of hair accessories besides a headband I got from IW, so that might have to be it :\

I have a pair of red hairclips with black fishnet over them, kinda gothic like. I only have one right now cuuuz I lost the other lol but you can have one if you want. I have a never-ending supply of hair accessories lol As for the hair and such, what does your natural hair look like? My friend Danni and I love to play with hair, we could help you if youd like.

My hair's really short. Like a really really shaggy pixie cut with long sidebangs. I can't do much with it, but it looks fine on me.

I might nick one of my mom's hats to go with this dress or go find a straw boater or something.

Ah, so its like mine. I can work with that lol I have a simple headband with a red bow and a black sugar skull on it that you could borrow. And then we can just tease the back of your hair around it to make it all big and poofy. Or, I have a metal silver headband, with a mesh bow on it that I wear all the time with anyhting I want to look slightly lolita and such. I got it at payless for 6.99. Im sure they stil have more if you wanna go there and look.
But, if you want to wear your wig, or buy a new one (which I dun think you do, cuz wigs is pricey), I found this tutorial on curls for wigs

Hahahaha all this talking about teasing my hair- my hair doesn't work like that. It takes an entire can of hairspray to get it to hold any kind of curl. It literally has to be a crunchy mess for it to stay in any sort of shape.

Guyssssssss I have a fancy shmancy burando headband with lace and pearls and stuff that goes with my dresssssssssss I don't need to borrow anyone's I might loooooooose it D: also I just went and looked and I could borrow hair things from my mom. She does ballroom stuff so she has more rhinestone hair thingies than she knows what to do with. I think she has a few rhinestone star clips.

Lol thatll be cute ^-^

And hun, any hair can be teased lol I put mine up in short liberty spikes every day, and all it takes is a small tease and hairspray to do that for my short hair.

Anyways, I was wondering, would any of the lovely lolitas like to join us at the park for a lolita photoshoot? Someone mentioned that it would be nice to have one so we could see all the pretty dresses and cuteness that comes with lolitas lol If you would like to, check the Photoshoot Thread for times and locations ^-^

Not all hair can be teased and curled like your's, mine, when it was longer, could barely hold a curl, even with hairspray.

And I know there's a lolita meetup on day 0, is a photoshoot really needed too?

Yeah, my roommate's hair is like that. If you try to curl it you have to use a whole can of hairspray and a curling iron that goes to like, 200 degrees. Then it will only stay for like, 2 hours. XP And teasing.... You try and you have to use another can of hairspray and that will only stay for a little bit too. I've tried. Then there's my hair. All I have to do is not brush it and it looks teased. XP

We are having a meetup on Day 0, Friday. We will take pictures, but we are NOT having a formal photoshoot. There will be way too many people for a formal photoshoot, and Lolitas generally do not turn meetups into photoshoots. Lolitas have photoshoots, yes, but they are almost always very small groups or singles. Long story short, we are having a meetup, not a photoshoot.

I got an OP and a winter coat. I really hope it looks good on me and I'm super excited! I'm moving out of my parents house (again) so I can start dressing how I want to instead of how my mom wants me to.

$75 USD is the base price. However, you gotta add on 12 yuan for shipping to my SS, the 10% SS fee, and then it was $20 shipping over here. Dunno how much the shipping would've cost on its own, though.

So altogether, it cost me 94.14, although I imagine if someone bought JUST that from the SS it would've been a little cheaper. I edited my price by $10 to reflect that.

None. GLW is terrible. Go with Amphigory or Taobao.

And that last one doesn't really suit subdued sweet lolita.
