Does anyone match the character you're cosplaying with perfume/cologne/body spray/etc.? One of my actively cosplaying friends went to Anime Expo as Cardcaptor Sakura and wore some preteen bubble-gum scent along with it, it seemed to enhance the 'reality' of the costume.

I had this weird color leave in conditioner on my hair at con last year, but that's it. Now whenever I smell it it smells like con, but I ran out so I'm going to buy a new bottle, even though my hair isn't dyed, just to remind me of con.
But no, I've never heard of doing that. Maybe I should try it.
What perfume do you think Renge would wear?

That's a great idea, though. As long as the character doesn't have a BO problem or work in a dump....then it may be bad for everyone, lol

That is a pretty good idea, now I need to think of what my characters would wear....I would say something fruity for Kuja, something picy for Larxene, and I'm not too sure for Cloud >_>;

Seems like Kuja would be all about the most expensive, top-shelf elegant perfumes, or very androgynous colognes, heh.

And Barret is all about Old Spice musk! ^_^

That seems like a good idea. And they have a spray for almost every smell so you don't have to smell like a perfume but more natural if you want too.

Some characters might be hard to figure out what to wear though.

After thinking about it, it might not be the best idea. Imagine walking around the con space and you get a wiff of BO and perfume e.o

It would be alright as long as you don't put a lot on.

I don't know what my characters would smell like though.
Kurama would definitely smell like roses and plants, Allen, god knows what he wears. Renge's would probably some expensive good smelling perfume. I'll look at bath and bodyworks for some rose, and some spendy smelling perfume. Maybe I'll find some weird cologne for Allen when I'm at it. He seems like an Axe kind of guy, no matter how gross that stuff is.

I know this guy that always wears Axe, and one of my friends follows him around. I try to avoid him as best I can.

I don't think I'd want to run around the con smelling like Gourry - especially since he's a mercenary/body guard that travels perpetually in a medieval setting.

Hayley would smell like manure (she *does* own a ranch, after all), and that's even worse.

This seems like a great site to buy from (or at least get inspired by), as most of the scents are conceptual rather than personal. I've ordered from them in the past and have been very pleased with the results. The 'Imp's Ears' are very small samples that would be perfect for one-time use, and unlike the full-size bottles they don't take very long to make and ship.

Exorcists seem to do a bit of trekking through forests... suppose you could go for something earthy, like pine, just not too strong...

Elegant doesn't have to mean not perfume, I just meant that I couldn't picture Kuja smelling like pre-teen bubble gum perfume from Clare's, lol. He strikes me as more high-end, so to speak.

The only scent that I match with characters is when I cosplayed Kadaj. The costume I wore had a specific smell, like new leather, and since then, whenever I smell that scent, it reminds me of Kadaj, and Kumoricon '07.

But then there's Light, too... whenever I smell fried chicken or honey mustard, I think of him, because somehow my tie, jacket, and shirt were covered in it when I got up to Akicon to put it on, and when we washed it off and dried it, it smelt like fried chicken. DX

I have no idea, I don't eat honey mustard, so how it got on my Cosplay, I don't know. DX I also don't eat KFC, so when I unpacked it to put it on, I stuck my fingers right into the sauce. It sucked, cause I ended up walking around smelling like it until later that night when we called it good and I washed them. x.x

This is technically the first year I actually bought perfume for a character - it's Rose Water for Aki. =] Anyone who's seen YGO 5D's would probably know why xD (But for those who haven't, she runs a plant deck, her signature monster is Black Rose Dragon and she's called the Black Rose Witch.) The only thing is...she's a destructive person and rose scent is really relaxing.
And I already had Egyptian Musk, so I just use that with Mana - YGO Mana, not Jrocker Mana. C: I don't really think any of my other cosplays would go well with perfumes, though, considering Rally lives in an abandoned subway tunnel.

I'm more likely to paint my nails to match, really. xD

Hrmmm.... Raikou would probably wear perfume over cologne. Something moderatly expensive and perhaps a bit musky. (Can you tell I know nothing about scents? >___>) Either that or something really flamboyant and pink.

As for Mello...? I have no clue whatsoever. D: I'm almost afraid of the answer.

But then again, I'm too cheap to actually buy perfume/scent for a cosplay when I myself don't wear anything. ... Too much smell gives me a humongous headache. ^^'

I know the author of One Piece once said what all of the characters smelled like, and if I were to follow that I would have to smell like cigarettes and seafood for my Sanji costume

Link seems like he'd smell like rain. IDK why I think so, but I'd go with some like dewy smelling thing.
For Mello and Near, there's a perfume that is actually marked with the L l, and it would amuse me so if one of you wore that. Even if it was for like a few hours.

I'm going exploring for an expensive smelling thing for Renge. Botan seems like she'd just smell like IDK... maybe she is like Link and would smell like rain. I guess that works.
Sora... I don't know what he'd smell like. Any ideas.
