How Many Costumes Do You Put Together in 1 Year?

Hello! I'm a poll spree this morning haha, this time I'm wondering:

- How often can you put a costume together? and
- How many costumes do you put together in one year?

For me, I can put together a costume a month if I try really hard, but I don't know how many costumes I could do in a year because I've only been cosplaying for a couple months xD How about you?

God I have gotten so many so far. In one year I was able to get together Cloud, Larxene, Kuja, and Misa. Though I did buy most of those but that means I have to have enough money to buy them........Looking at how much each of them costs I spent way to much on cosplay this year x.x

Ah, same with me, except you are wonderful at making your costumes! <333 I'm still learning, so out of the three costumes I have so far, I've only made one of them and I'm suspecting I'll be buying a lot of costumes until I get a little better @_@

I have plans to "put together" three, but out of those three I'm only making two and buying one (because I lack experience in pleated skirts lol). One I've already made, but it just needs the usual touch-ups here and there (Soul Eater - Death the Kid), one which I'm ordering for kumoricon (Toradora! - Minori), and then one for Halloween that I'm making (Beetle Juice - Lydia). I'll also be making my boyfriend's, as well (Beetle Juice). Ack.

Well out of the ones I have I have only made Albel, Temari, and Youji. Albel I made mostly from scratch but the others have been altered clothes. Once I get Albel the way I want it I will probably end up entering it into a contest.

I tend to buy my costumes and alter them to be more accurate.

Sure thing! We'll be wearing it at the PSU Anime Halloween Ball and I'll probably wear mine a few other times, as well. It will be the first time that he'll have more make-up on than me lol.

Me I'm crazy I probably put together about 15 random ones between last year and this year XD
Just depends on how enthusiastic i am about sewing

I tend to only do one or two cosplays a year. I like to focus intently on a small number, and make them as perfect as possible, rather than do a high number. (But honestly, I've never had that many characters I've planned to do at one time, so I usually only have one or two to choose from anyway.)

I just made a Jaina Proudmoore costume for my friend. It took about 4 days. There are still some parts left to do, like make the shoulders, purchase the wig, add a few finishing touches....


I say I could make about 4-5 intricate ones a month if I worked every day on it and made them look very well done. 15-20 EASY ones a month.

Though I never have enough projects to keep me busy through the year, let alone inspiration when it comes to making my own. So I'd say I probably make 1-2 a year. Though now that I've been selling my old costumes, I feel inspired to maybe do commissions for people. Who knows though...

thing is this kinda assumes that costumes are the only sewing thing a quilt can be as big a project as a costume or a dress

this year i made my 3 brides maid dresses and the sleves for my wedding dress
a pair of pj bottoms
my pakkun costume
i am working on somthing for tom right now
I am hinderd right now by a cold i avoid sewing when sick cut thats when you make mistakes ...or sew your thumb for somthing

This totally depends on the the difficulty of the costume.

This year I'm making about five costumes, though two of them are super simple and will only take me a week to two weeks.
Next year I am making five costumes too, some of them being simpler.
I'm planning to make only one to two costumes in 2011 due to the difficulty of them though.
