Alright I personally think it is never too early to start planing. I find this especially true with the costume design for Final Fantasy 9. A lot of the costumes are very elaborate and will take a lot of time. With that being said it would be great to get a group together for this frequently undercosplaed game. Our goal is to be better than this group

There are so many characters that someone could cosplay as from this game that I don't think it would be too hard to find one that fits your tastes.

Well I would hope your costumes look alike, they're the same character! ^_^ (I know what you meant, I'm just being stubborn, lol)

And that group is pretty amazing. The Zorn and Thorn look awesome. The only one I can't place is the person on the far right - that girl. I can't recall anyone in the game looking like that. Lani? Scarlet? I dunno.

They had icons and names for all of them....I'll look it up latter. As for the costume yeah they should look the same but I mean it is the same material and even the same boots. The ones I got from cosplaymagic had those stupid things coming off the side and I cut them off and made them look more accurate. Should could have still made it. It would be very lucky to find all the same material as that store.

If I can convince either my cousin, or one of my friends, I may be able to give you guys a Zorn and Thorn.
I've been wanting to cosplay from FFIX, for a while now, and those two happen to be part of my 'Need To Cosplay!!' list~!
I'll get back to you guys, if I can convince someone to be my Zorn.

Well, everyone that knows Nikki. This year will be my first con, and I've only gone to one meet-up.
Oh! I may have convinced my cousin to go as Zorn, next year. I just have to keep bringing it up to her, and she if she still wants to do it, or not.

Thing is, we both aren't a huge fan of their look in the game. We're bigger fans of this design: Concept Art.
So, if we do end up doing Zorn and Thorn, that may be the costumes we do, instead.

Well it is a well known game that many people don't cosplay from. A lot of the costumes could be a challenge so it will be fun

Yeah, I just look forward to seeing you two, whatever you end up doing. I'll admit, I really don't like Yoshitaka Amano's renditions of FF character designs, but it's better than nothing when it comes to cosplay, I suppose.

I can help anyone with any part of their costume. Clayworking, painting, sewing, dying, armor-making, wings, etc. Hell, every year I bring extra sewing crap to Kcon; find me and I can help fix things! ^^;;

You could use the craft foam tutorial. It turns out quite well, and a shortened version of that is just coating the craft foam in resin.

Yeah, I definitely have some ideas.

You can buy craft foam in rolls at JoAnn's, but it isn't nearly thick enough. Some layering would be necessary, but I would most likely be making the armor out of a craft foam/plastic sheeting combination-compress. I have a tutorial site I will be referring to when I start working on it - "Armormaking for the Fiber-Glass Phobic" lol
