I'd say save your money and time, both are worth more than what you'd spend at MewCon (in my opinion, of course).
Okay, being the Programming Director for MEW con, it's absolutely necessary that I retaliate to this statement and do a little debunking. Sorry for this total threadjack.
MEW Con last year was a horrific, disorganized mess for three reasons:
-The president got in a car crash shortly before the con, and wasn't there for the majority of setup.
-The programming director disappeared a few weeks before the con with a serious case of cancer which they failed to mention to anyone.
-It was the first year.
The fact that more than half of the exhibitors and many attendees canceled because of the blizzard which was the
worst winter storm the Portland area has had in 160 years didn't help at all.
MEW Con is an affordable con with a lot of potential. I'm making it my personal top priority right now to make sure everyone who goes to MEW Con has an incredible New Year's experience, and remembers it with utmost fondness. My managers and coordinators busting their butts to make MEW Con as great as it can be, and they deserve a chance to share their hard work and dedication with others. If you have criticism to bring to the table, do so and I will do everything in my power to abolish those problems.
Again, sorry for the threadjack. Carry on with the discussion topic.
