Organization XIII Coat Hardware Help
« on: July 15, 2009, 04:46:55 pm »
Since its getting close to the convention, I really don't have much time to buy a set of chains for my Organizaiton XIII coat. I'm thinking about putting one together myself. I know what I'm going to do for the most part, except for the ends of the pulls. Does anyone have an ideas as to what to use for the coat hardware or if there is someone who is selling one and it could get to me before the convention?

You can find some beads pretty similar to the ones on the coat at many craft stores, or you can craft your own with a strong clay like Fimo. I've head of people decorating spools for the beads in the middle, and it works pretty well. Just string them together by using different sizes of chain.

Most people just make the chains detachable from the coat, so you can wash it, by sewing on little fasteners under the fold of the hood/collar. In the games you never see the hoods pulled shut, so there's no real need to make them functional. Most of this you can find in the jewelry section of a craft store.

If you meant something else, sorry, I'm slow sometimes ^^;

Are you talking the beads and other such things, or are you talking the metal hardware itself?

You can basically wing it for the beads, as long as they're in the vague shape of the Organization chain. There are no real zoom-ins of the detail. The chain can be just about anything as long as it isn't a silly-looking giant chain.

You're really good any way you go.

I was thinking about buying from them because they looked awesome, I just wasn't sure if they would be here in time for Kumoricon. Do you think they would be able to get here in time?

I'm not that skilled to be able to make something before the con. ^^

It's really easy. x.x; Fimo's 2$, and all you do is shape it into the shape you want, then put it in the oven for however long it needs to cook, then you're done.
