Show off your dancin' skills!
Perform known dances like the Hare Hare Yukai or Thriller, or come up with a new dance of your own! Please coordinate your cosplay with your dance though, as it is a

The prizes aren't anything special because this isn't an official event like the cosplay contest. It is mostly just for fun! :3
Judging will be based on sharpness, timing, togetherness (for groups), character (yes, it is part of dancing too), difficulty of the choreography (minor factor), presentational effect of all aspects together (music + costume + dance), audience reaction, and personal reaction. So far I am the only judge. If you are interested in being one, please PM me. Anyone, If you think I have left anything out that should be taken into account for judging, please tell me.
For clarification on what counts as "original" vs. "existing":
It's all based on the choreography itself. Let's take the examples I listed at the beginning of this post, the Hare Hare Yukai and Thriller. If you want to perform to the music of either but you're making up entirely different choreography to them, that's "original." Original choreography by you. If you're planning on using the choreography from one and putting it to different music - let's say you'll be dancing to the Thriller music, but dancing the Hare Hare Yukai choreography, that's "existing" because, well, that dance - the set of choreography - already exists. If you're planning on doing a mix of choreography, like half Hare Hare Yukai and half Thriller choreography, it's still "existing" because it's based off of dances that already exist. If you're planning on doing a mix of choreography that includes some from an existing dance like Thriller, but also some new choreography that you came up with, it depends on how much is recognizably taken from the existing dance. If over 60% of the dance is original choreography, I'll let it count as "original". If you have any questions beyond this, PM me.
This event and the official cosplay contest are not mutually exclusive, so you can participate in both. This isn't an official Kumoricon event. In this contest, unlike the cosplay contest, we're not judging costumes individually - just the dance/overall performance. Costumes factor into it, but we're not awarding anything based on costume alone. For major swag compete in the official cosplay contest; for fun, recognition, gloating rights (don't take this too far), and a love of dance, participate in the cosplay choreography contest. ;

Some dance examples to get your brain juices flowing! I will update this as I find more, so always be on the lookout.

You are allowed to have dialogue, like you would for a skit. It's not required, only an option. Just make sure you have one track all prerecorded to perform to, and that dancing makes up at least about 70% of the performance.
Things must be kept to a PG level, choreography and music-wise.
Performances should be no longer than 3 minutes each.
