Paypal would get it within 24 hrs. So, if you're ordering on the 16th, I'd say go with the online method.

Aug. 2 is the last day that you have the option of having your badge mailed. But you can get the pre-registration price, and the other pre-registration benefits (like Friday evening badge pickup) if you pre-reg by Aug. 16. From Aug. 3 to Aug. 16, if you pre-register, your badge is always held for at-con pickup.

So if you pre-reg in time to have your badge mailed to you, do you still have to wait in the pre-reg line at the beginning of the con?  If so, what's the benifit of getting the badge mailed to you?

My friends who didn't pre-reg were in the line for about three hours, and I'm pretty sure we got there at about 7 a.m.
Also: I pre-regged on the very last day last year.... I don't recommend doing that. XDD
I miss 2010.

While I know what you're trying to say, I just want to point out The speed of Molasses in the dead of winter is still Sub Light speed.

Oh, I understand the difference between pre-reg and at the door.. let me rephrase my question..

What's the difference between pre-reg and getting your badge in the mail, and pre-reg pick up at willcall?

If you pre-reg early enough and get a badge in the mail, do you NOT have to wait in the pre-reg line?

If things are the same as they have been in the past, then I think it works like this: If you get your badge in the mail, then you only have to wait in one line at Kumoricon, the line to check in. If you pre-reg but don't get your badge in the mail, then you have to wait in two lines, the line to pick up your badge and the line to check in.

I think that is how it has worked in the past, but I could be wrong.
