Bagelia
« on: August 04, 2009, 09:46:01 pm »
Welcome to the land of Bagels.  We are often considered a global representative of peace, love, and tastiness.  This is because Bagels are tasty, and loving, and will never try to stab you.  English Muffin's are pretty ballin' too, but they're suboptimal compared to bagels because they have a longer cook time and aren't as versatile.  Nonetheless, we respect them as one of the 42 most delicious things that taste with butter.

Bagelia is your first news source if you need to be in the know about bagels.  Bagel meetups?  Places where bagels taste good (hint: everywhere)?  Excellent recipes using bagels?  Excellent recipes that can be eaten before or after eating bagels?  New methods of eating bagels?  Assassinations performed using nothing but a bagel, a pat of butter, three leafs of baby spinach, and a gun?  You'll here about it here first!

So, some underlying details which I feel the need to divulge:

National Capital: New York City
Population: Everyone
National Food: Bagel
National Doughnut: Voodoo's Plain Raised Glazed; it kind of looks like a Bagel
National Dog: Beagle
National Flower: Poppy ('cause the seeds taste good on bagels)
National Mind-Altering Substance which we do not condone, endorse, or prescribe: Vicodine
The Price of tea in China: Neither here nor there

Enjoy your stay, and your bagels.

Seriously though, I'm gonna go eat a bagel, then sleep.

After getting the first post this hour, of course.

DO IT.

Sabata, you're in the right place ;]

Hmm, quick discussion topic: Gabriel's Bagels?  Opinions?  Next to legit New York Bagels, which are nearly impossible to replicate due to New York's unique ecosystem and climate, these are the best bagels I've encountered.  I'm about 95% certain that Chaos uses these, which definitely reinforces my positive opinion of them.

they are quite good. only problem is if you want them warm, then you have to get there early. i don't know if that place is still open anyways. i haven't been there for 2 years. by the way, i kinda want to go to your bagel meetup thing. but it seems kinda late to sign up. and i don't really know anyone. not to mention it will be soaking we tomorrow.

If you can make it, feel free to do so.  The rain actually makes Chaos feel really cozy, so I wouldn't worry about that...kills the idea of going to the park afterwards though.

Tofu, you spelled Vicodin wrong in your first post. That is, of course, unless there's a drug on the market called Vicodine. Is it a refined form of Codine?

Also, I like Market of Choice's strawberry bagels. They have chunks of strawberry in them and are nummy. They look a little like Sheryl Nome's hair, actually.
