D= so i bought my mask and its true i realy cant wear my mask with the cresent moon on my forhead... if only i had a decretive stick to put the mask on D: poo for being poor

A mask on a stick is acceptable, but keep in mind that you will have to wear the mask the entire time you are in the ballroom, so you arm may get tired.  You can always step out, and if there is not a huge line waiting, get back in, but you will have to wear the mask.

It said mask, I didn't know Eye Patch was a "mask"

An eye patch is not a mask.  True, you can do a mask only around one eye, but you are going to have to be a bit more creative that just an eye patch. ;)  Also, you need to make sure that whatever you do, it does not impair your vision.. you will be dancing.

Omg...that was horrible! I didn't have a mask but I had my friend's Matt goggles and I had to wear them the entire time! They were super hot to wear because of the stuff on the inside and it always left red lines on my face! But every time I slipped it off just to wipe some sweat away some person came up to me and said that I either had to keep it on or leave! Dx

It wasn't completely enforced last year because there was some question of the dress code not being announced enough for people. Which is why it's on the website, being pushed in the forums, and in the con book this year.  If all goes well, I will also have a sign outside the dance :D

We are really trying to enforce it this year.  There are two other dances which are informal.. for 2 hours people can be a bit more formal.

Do you think their going to put a cap on who can get in the raves this year?
i remember last year I got in with out a problem, I dont even think I had to wait in a line but for some reason I thought I heard how some people couldnt get int or something?

You could try to make something like the style of an eyepatch, so that it is over one eye, but more intricate looking.

what kind of masks are you all doing? I bought this really nice fancy mask at last SakuraCon but it doesn't fit with my dress this K-Con.

So I bought some cheap eye-covering wigs at Micheals and plan to dump a load of glitter on them and then take a glitter glue pen and make some designs.

But I've seen very extravagant types of masks at previous masqurades too.

So what is everyone doing?

You might want to look through all the previous pages of this thread. Since that's what we've been talking about this whole time and it'd be a bit redundant for us to all repost what we're doing. xD;;;

You could make something out of foam or something that attaches to your glasses? So that your glasses are PART of your mask.

Doing Akane's Juliet dress, with my boyfriend in Ranma's Romeo --> http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1719520/
Need to finish my hat and hair fall and see if I can add the rest of the designs around his collar.
I've got an idea how I'd like to do our masks, but not sure I can do it properly with the sewing I've got left. If I can do the prep work on them before we leave I can finish some of the detail stuff Saturday night.

How much are they enforcing a dress code? I didn't feel like going last year because it just seemed like another dance.

look's great! How many more hours do you think you'll need?

and they mentioned earlier that they would be cracking down on it this year. Personally, I think it's just on the dance floor. I was at one of the tables in the back last year with my mask off and they didn't say anything.

They are going to be watching a lot more closely this year, and that's not true. They expect you to keep your masks on at all times during the Masquerade portion of the dance, whether you're sitting around or dancing doesn't matter. Just thought I'd repeat what I'd heard.~

I remember last year I was the only one out of my friends to bring a mask so I triple-folded some newspaper and cut out three masks within a minute and taped it on each of their noses so that the staff would let them in. Most hilarious thing ever.
They let us all in btw XD

Depends on what else you're wearing - cosplaying a character? Add something that'll relate to them. Anything else, I'd look google "masquerade masks" and see what type strikes me as the coolest/most-mysterious~

Ah, and my costume has a built-in mask, so whoot~  :D But I will add some dressy-elements, so it fits in better. Observe my scribbly-scribble!
