So I'm trying to decide whether to move on to something else in 2010 or do another spam battle with the same rules.

Maybe a "Chubby Bunny Challenge" with Spam cubes instead of marshmallows.

I'm think of a "Name that Forum Quote" contest where I read something a person said and people try and guess who said it.

I considered a forumite costume contest too, where you come dressed as another person on the forum. I don't know if that would be a good idea though.

I have no idea. T_T
I still think it'd be pretty crazy though.

Ooh I know! Everyone come up with their own contests and prizes, then I can award a prize for the best contest!

And then.... MORE BOBBING IN THE SAME TUB! XD

I want to avoid this becoming just a bunch of spam jokes, so we need to do something that ACTUALLY has to do with the forum. Like when I used mod powers to hide a special message deep in the forum archives.

Oh, and we totally could not make a costume contest based on avatars, you darn kids change them way too often.  :P

Ooh yeah, if you printed out a screenshot of one of that person's posts to prove what you were doing.
I don't think anyone would bother photoshopping in a character just because they ahppen to have that costume.

Bonus points if the person whose avatar you chose is at the panel!

I think I will have to get a prize budget for the panel this year. I will try and get a batch of little prizes and one big prize. When I get the little prizes together I will let you guys know how many little contests we can do, and then the big prize will be for the person with the BEST CONTEST.

Contest Contest Rules rough draft
1. Contests can not have their own panel elsewhere in the convention.
2. Contests must involve at least two contestants
3. Contest makers may not compete in their own contests.
4. Contest makers may compete in contests of other contest makers.
5. The panelist reserves all rights to disqualify a contest if there is suspicion of it being "fixed".
6. Contest must be justifiably "forum related". Justifications must be 20 words or less. Justification will be judged by the Panelist and the Kumoricon moderators.
7. Contest makers may make more than one contest for the contest contest.
8. Contests cannot begin any earlier than 8:00am on Saturday morning, the weekend of the convention, and must end by the end of the Forum Meet Up Panel.

There, I think that covers it.
LOL, I thought of an unofficial contest for next year, but I think that the staff would shut it down. :3

I think we should start at 8:00 AM, see how many forumgoers we can find in con space, and document it to prove it (Like have them say their forum-name on a video). This ends when forum panel starts.
I miss 2010.

No way! I'm not posting it here!
Everything you type is logged by the admins even if you don't post it or you delete it right afterwards. They clear the logs on a regular basis but have certain terms flagged. That's why you have to watch your mouth in here.
Tofu, tell her it's true.

I dunno man, best thread is really too subjective. There's not any clear way of measuring how "good" a thread is because of the different purposes they serve.

Do you guys think we could do more contests if the forum meet up panel was on Sunday morning instead?

yes.

but we could have awards like "best in show"
or "best conversation within"
or "best quote"

all within the best thread contest.

Let's do this, I'll make sure there's a small generic prize for every contest submitted since we're handing them out at my panel. If you guys find something that you want to get rid of or that you think would make a good prize, then you can give the winner that as well.

Starting a new thread would be OK, though something tells me it should probably go into the spam forum. I wouldn't start it now though, wait until like... after Sakuracon. People change their avatars so much after all. I am even planning on picking a new one!
