I can only flirt with people that I am uninterested in because I stumble over myself silly, otherwise... and therefore I find it pointless (unless if it's all in good fun and by no means serious).
But!
I think that flirting can be fine so long as you play it safe. Someone might return a little casual flirting here or there but they might have different intentions, if you catch my drift.
I ended up having to save a friend who did that at this year's Sakuracon. Luckily, I was able to dispose of him... heh.

Agreed with Maki, on both counts. I'm really bad at flirting if it is someone I actually am interested in. I'd say you definitely want to watch out for yourself and make sure your friend(s) do too.

This is basically my standpoint as well. I'm not much of a flirt in general, and when I am, it's usually not somebody I'm really attracted to, since I'd basically be like "a dur dur dur.. yer gorgeous.. a dur dur".

And likewise, I also thinking flirting in general is fun, as long as you don't give someone the wrong idea, or they don't get the wrong idea on their own.. and as long as it's all in good fun, and nobody is really too serious about anything(unless both people decide the flirting is going somewhere.. in which case they become one of those rare couples that met at a con.. lucky jerks. xD).

So yeah.. that's basically my standpoint. Flirting is fun as long as it doesn't become dangerous.. and if it actually goes anywhere, congratulations? Otherwise.. as long as everybody's happy and having fun, it's all good.

flirting at the con sounds like it could be fun but let me share with you a story of... well, warning....

i was talking to a nice young man i met at the con who was crosplaying. we were talking and enjoying eachothers company when he began to say that he was getting tiered of guys hitting on him. i asked if they couldnt see his red badge or if they knew he was well a he. to this he responded let me show you. a few people walked by and one man stopped for a second and struck up a conversation. it was going pretty well then i noticed that the new commer was starting to flirt with my new friend.

having just expressed his anoyance at this sort of thing he gave me a smile and started to play along with the newcommer flirting right back. it went back and forth till eventualy it ended up coming to a close when my new friend said "I hope you dont mind taking it from behind for a while becuase i have had way to much action to day to have any more. oh and by the way i am glad that you dont mind the fact that i am 12; for most people that is a turn off" after that the new commer left with quite a redface and his head bowed in shame we proceded to laugh our cloective bums right off for a a good while.

any ways thats all to say that yes i think it can be fun and who knows maybe i will flirt a bit my self if i have time off. but just remember to be careful who you flirt with..

She's really pretty but my sister's all 'meh don't touch me' and the only boyfriend she ever had she broke up with because he wanted to hold her hand.
So plleeasseee! I really want to get her to socialize more, she's on the verge of becoming a cat lady. XD
She's 18 so, w/e. But keep in mind this is her first con, so don't scare her or I'll never get her to go with me ever again. XP

Benjamin, what a story! Geeze, ALWAYS keep badge colors in mind when flirting. XD That guy must have felt horrible.

If I wanted to try this it would be best on Monday, since I'll be Shadow that day, which is a female version LOL. It's also the costume I wear to the dances.
