Sounds bery sekrit indeeds. One thing that's always epic about samurai/ninja scenes is the grand final rush. The two charge, leap and slash, and whoever the quicker one was...the loser says a parting compliment and slumps over. In Amtgard if both players' shots hit at the same time within half a second of each other, then it's considered a mutual kill. Both players die and neither one wins. This may happen a lot when our grunts and elites battle in the first two waves. But then when it comes down to us, we have a normal match, then when one is struck down, both will jump back and do a grand final rush. After we both run by drawing the blade across the other's stomach, I will say the first line, whether I lose or not. My line will be specific to which flavor is superior. At that point one of us will fall over, the children will come out, and the rest plays out.
Two things come to mind, however. First, to do the grand rush, we would have only longswords, while the mercenaries we hired use the special weapons, the keyblade and buster sword. This however allows us to use shields, making it harder to find an opening and therefore more of a duel between master warriors. Second, if we didn't want to depend on the final slash to decide who wins, then using the special weapons ourselves would more than define it. I have a buster sword, with longer reach but requires more effort to use, while Strawberry Hokage has the keyblade, which is shorter but has teeth to hook and trap the longer weapon. So it seems victory is in favor of chocolate. But as said above: the longer they are, the harder it is to attack a closer opponent.
So what would be better? Shields and longswords, or epic special weapons?
